Advantages: Cheap and mops up mess
Disadvantages: Not the most durable
For me, there isn't much difference in the efficiency of differing types of kitchen roll for the purposes I often need to use it for. I understand that, for some people, strong and durable kitchen 'towel' such as Bounty are better value than the less durable ones.
Tesco Value White Kitchen Roll is no frills. The packaging is thin plastic, an then the individual sheets to tear off do at first seem quite flimsy. However, if all you need it for is to wipe up a few spills here and there, then it's good enough. If you have a more substantial spill, then sure, it may not be the best, or you may need to use two or more sheets, whereas a different brand may only require the one (again I use Bounty as a comparison product).
This product costs just over £1. For this, you get two rolls, and they have a very faint embossed and textured look and feel to them. There's nothing fancy like a picture of a flower or anything, but then, it's a basic kitchen roll, and to be honest, I'm not sure I'd want a picture of a flower on there anyway!
If you need to do a little scrubbing, then I wouldn't recommend these. Okay, so it's probably best to use a cloth for stains on carpets, etc, but sometimes kitchen roll is a lot handier, and soaks up better than a cloth. I often find that a spilt cup of tea on the carpet takes a lot of these sheets to soak up. Luckily, it doesn't happen too often, and as I mentioned earlier, for the purposes I need it, it does the job.
Overall, I rate this product very highly. We don't bother with other brands, and once you take it out of the packaging, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between this and a lot of other kitchen rolls. Sure, it's not the most durable, but then, if you're expecting to need something more durable, you're more likely to choose something like Bounty anyway.
Summary: Another great Tesco Value product
