Advantages: cheap & OK for our needs
Disadvantages: not suitable for some jobs when you have to 'double up'
We seem to go through a heck of a lot of kitchen roll in our family & usually hubbie buys the massive catering rolls from Costco but occasionally I have to buy some & refuse to pay a great deal for something that gets used & discarded immediately.
I've bought quite a few items from the Tesco Value range with varying degrees of success but I'd recommend their kitchen roll - 200 sheets for just £1.24 - much cheaper than than many.
OK it's not very attractive to have on show & it's only 2 ply but in my opinion it's a good price for what you get. I could pay more for a thicker roll with a pattern on but for the amount we use I'd rather pay less.
Although there are only 3 adults (sometimes 4) in our home we also have a cat & dog so when I was trying to figure out why we used so much paper I have to put it down to the pets. I'm forever clearing up spills from milk & water plus cleaning their food trays & this roll works fine although sometimes, for stubborn marks I do have to double up.
I also use a fair bit around the kitchen & bathroom when I use my fantastic Polti steamer as this cheapo roll is ideal for wiping down sinks, basins, baths ,showers, cookers, microwaves & work surfaces etc. When I'm cleaning really tough stains on the hob though I tend to use a cloth as 2 ply paper isn't tough enough & tend to disintegrate.
Kitchen roll also gets used a good deal outside for wiping down the patio furniture & general cleaning of pots & other random items as well as wiping down the BBQ grill & utensils once they've been scrubbed.
I've found them invaluable when decorating when you don't have loads of disposable/ old cloths to use when cleaning paintbrushes & wiping off drips of paint that always appear around the edge of the can.
We also tend to have a roll in the car which is handy for using as a replacement for serviettes, tissues, dusters, wipes etc.
So, I guess that's why we use so much of the stuff. I'll continue to buy Tesco Value Kitchen Roll as long as they keep the price nice & low as it works for me & my family & as they say, 'every little helps' non?
Summary: not very attractive but suits our family's needs
