Advantages: completes the job at hand
Disadvantages: not as cheap as you would expect
Whenever your in the kitchen, lounge or any other room for that matter, and there is an uncontrolled spill of liquid, its always handy to have some Kitchen roll to hand to mop up the mess, and Tesco Value White Kitchen Towel does just that job, but not as well as you would think for the price that you pay.
The product itself is fairly strong, but compared to other branded products such as Bounty, it is no where near as strong. As for liquid absorption, again it does the job, but compared to the more expensive products it holds a fraction of the amount. As we are on the topic of price, they are not as cheap as you may expect, the last time I bought a set of these towels, it cost me £1.24 for a pack of two. This compared to the non-value Tesco own brand option which is cheaper at £1.17 for a pack of two, and a pack of two Plenty (formally Bounty) will set you back only £1.62, and in my own opinion the Plenty rolls are worth the extra 38p as they last far long because you use less of them.
Each roll does have a lot more sheets than it use to have, formally 60 sheets per roll has now doubled to 120 sheets, where as the Plenty rolls have only 50 sheets per roll. The covering wrap packaging is made from polyethylene which can be recycled and the kitchen towels themselves are used from paper approved by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) which guarantees that the wood used to make this product came from forests which are well managed according to strict environmental, social and economic standards.
Overall, they are fairly descent kitchen towels which perform the task that they are designed to do. They, however, are nothing special and for the price you pay, you might as well just buy the slightly more expensive branded versions. I would recommend these to others if you were really counting the pennies, however, with the other Tesco own brand towels being cheaper than this type at the moment (although I don't know how long they will remain like this) I would just buy these instead. The quality isn't very good, but good enough for most basic jobs required to be done. Their worth trying and making your own mind up about them.
Summary: good enough
