... water looked a lot soapier and had more bubbles in it than the Tesco one. I was doing the same washing up, I had divided the washing up into two piles and did some in each water. I washed 3 dinner plates with dried food and gravy on, 3 mugs with hot chocolate in the bottom, 2 cereal bowls with cornflakes stuck to it, 3 glasses one of which had milk in it and the others coke, a frying pan which had been used to cook bacon, a roasting tin that had been used to cook meat and a ceramic dish which had been used to cook a ...more

I am always trying to save money wherever possible so whilst doing my weekly shop, I noticed Tescos own washing up liquid and thought I would try this instead of my usual Fairy washing up liquid. Packaging The washing up liquid comes in a plastic bottle very similar to most of the washing up liquid bottles. The lid is red and flips up to open which again is very similar to other washing up liquid bottles. The bottle I am reviewing contains 500ml. Price Obviously this product can only be bought at Tesco and here is costs 68p for a 500ml bottle. Although quite often this product is on special offer where you can buy three bottles for ...  Read the complete review

We bought this bottle of Tesco washing up liquid the other week as we were trying to save some pennies and the other makes were not on special offer. It is the lemon version and the bottle is 500ml. The bottle is about 8" hight and has a bright red lid with a cap that is hinged and closes with a click. The front label is quite simple and just says Tesco in white lettering with the words lemon fragrance underneath. At the bottom it says grease cutting action. The back label tells you it is concentrated washing up liquid and says it cleans as well as the leading brand in independent tests. I would personally contest this as I had a bottle of ...  Read the complete review

When it comes to washing up liquid I have tried them all, from the most expensive brands to the really really cheap ones that don't actually clean your dishes! When I was living at home my Mum and Dad would only buy the Morning Fresh Brand however when moving into my own place a few years ago I was all for buying the cheapest product around, after all what could the difference be when it comes to buying washing up liquids? I soon learned that buying the cheap brands was not a great idea, they left dishes not really that clean unless you scrubbed them rather than wiped them and my skin felt rough so these days I always stick to a product that I know, ...  Read the complete review

Something that is always a necessity in the kitchen cupboard is washing up liquid, even for those who are lucky enough to own a dishwasher, some pots and pans, crystal glasses and baking trays are either too large, fragile or dirty to put into a dishwasher and therefore, there is only one option available, Washing up liquid. I use to be a big fan of Fairy Washing up liquid, it seemed to do as the advert says, lasts far far longer than other brands. Not only did it require a much smaller squirt per bowl of water, but the soapy bubbles (which may serve no real purpose, but they look nice) last far longer compared to the Tesco value washing up liquid which ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Tesco Washing Up Liquid: Lime & Ginger in your washing bowl instead of your cocktail (429 words)

With the purse strings being a little tight at the moment I'm trying more and more cheaper alternatives to my usual brands in the hope of saving a few pennies during my regular shopping trips. I usually buy fairy washing up liquid as I always thought that this brand represented good value for money, but on my last trip to Tesco I was on a limited cash budget and had to go for a cheaper alternative. I looked up and down the shelves and noticed that Tesco now do an own brand anti-bacterial range. The Lime and Ginger liquid caught my eye with its nice bright green colour and it smelled really pleasant so I thought I'd give it a go. Now my normal ...  Read the complete review
