Advantages: cheap, it works

Disadvantages: Less bubbles

TESCO ANTI-BACTERIAL LIME& GINGER

One of my peculiar habits is that my washing up liquid must match my liquid soap in the kitchen - don't ask why I haven't a clue!I bought some lime green liquid soap on BOGOF so matched it with Tesco anti-bac lime & ginger.

Not only do the colours match but I wanted to save a few pennies and this costs £0.84 for 500ml compared to the equivalent "fairy" one which is priced at £1.38 for 450ml.

Packaging

This lime coloured liquid comes in a clear plastic container with a lid that you pop open and shut. There is a blue plus sign on it - presumably to indicate the anti-bacterial qualities and the words Tesco anti-bacterial Lime & Ginger in white lettering . Underneath this is a picture of a lime and some ginger.

Ingredients

anionic surfactants - 15-30%, non-ionic surfactants and amphoteric surfactants -less than 5%, disinfectant, formaldehyde, methylisothiazolone, 2-bromo-2-nitropropane-1,
3-diol, 6-dihydroxy-2, 5-dioxahexane, perfume, linalool, limonene.

This products has not been tested on animals and claims to be "best ever performance, cleaning ability and grease removal".

Results

I know with fairy I only need to use a very small amount to have a nice bubbly washing up bowl so I only used a small amount of the Tesco one. I squeezed the bottle and a small amount of liquid was dispensed into my bowl whilst the hot tap was running, then I swished it around a bit to maximise the bubbles!

The smell is not overpowering, it is a delightful mix of lime (the most potent) and ginger - I am not convinced I would know it was ginger without prior knowledge though.

Conclusion

There were undoubtedly less bubbles with this make than with "fairy" but I did find it cut the grease and cleaned everything just as effectively - not much scrubbing required. I'm not bothered about less bubbles - it makes he drying process quicker!

This is cheaper and as good as fairy in my opinion so definately worth a try.

Summary: A great alternative to more expensive products.

That is some colour coordination! What happens if your washing up liquid/ soap runs out before the other one does!?
