Advantages: Cheaper than leading washing up brands

For years I have always bought Fairy Liquid for doing my washing up, however, with the credit crunch starting to bite I thought I would try a cheaper alternative. Whilst doing my weekly shop in Tesco's this week, I spotted that they were selling their own brand of washing up liquid at a price of £1 for two 500ml bottles. My normal brand was 98p for one, so it was an easy decision to make although I did wonder if the quality would be the same and whether I would need to use twice as much!

I must admit, having now tried it, I wish I had changed brands years ago. One squirt of liquid produces lots and lots of bubbles (something I like) and has a really fresh smell. The bottle claims to "cut through grease" and it certainly lives up to the claim.
It also states on the bottle that it can be used neat on a sponge and is safe to use in septic tanks, though why you would want to do so eludes me!

For those of you concerned with animal welfare, you will be pleased to know that it has not been tested on animals. All in all, a really cheap alternative without any difference in quality.
