Advantages: Its Cheap
Disadvantages: Much more needed, too runny.
Apparantly Washing up Liquid, is another one of those items where cheapness, is a false economy.
Being one of the few households that does'nt own a dishwasher, we get through a fair amount of the stuff. So I figured I would do my bit to save a few pennies by purchasing this own brand product.
Outwardly, the green smelly liquid looks like the premium stuff, I know sometimes the econo versions just look like watered down rubbish. But, no, this looked like the real Mccoy, nice viscosity, nice smell, however upon first using it I found it completely useless.
When I first squeezed a little into running water, it looked promising, it was doing the normal washing uppety liquidy things, like bubbling, foaming and smelling nice too. An I daresay my hands would become soft if immersed in it long enough!!!
However as soon as I started to attempt to wash a few plates and pans, all of these good things vanished seemingly instantly, and I was left with a bowl full of dirty washing up water.
So I drained, did a reload, gave it a bigger squeeze. More bubbles, more smell, looked great. Then added the actual washing and hey presto the same thing happened! Infuriating!
Maybe its because I live in a hard water area, but compared to my usual brand, it is hopelessly useless and a real false economy for three reasons:
(i) Have to use a greater quantity to achieve, same bubblyness.
(ii) Bubblyness an therefore cleaning qualities does not last.
(iii) Wastes hot water, as I had to empty and refill sink twice more than usual! Hence increasing my fuel bill!
I am considering using it as a Bubble bath, but I certainly won't be wasting away my life trying to wash up with it, or review it any further. Case Closed.
Summary: Good price, but useless as a washing up liquid.
