I bought this product as I thought it would help solve the problem of having a white rug which doesn't seem to mix well with having two naughty little cats. It's probably our fault for having bought a rug in such an impractical colour in the first place, but as soon as we got it, our cats made a bee-line for it, tramping their dirty paws all over ... Now it has to be said I did have a love affair with all things 'Vanish' until I met this pink deceiving harlot! Marketed by 'Reckitt Benckiser' and made in Poland, this 'Oxi Action' version of an old favourite 'Carpet & Upholstery Stain Remover' promised many things within her 500ml plastic pink encased and trigger spray topped body ... Having kids inevitably means we get some stains on the carpets. Being in a rented house inevitably means we can't afford to get stains in the carpets. Now, we either confine the kids to the back garden for the duration of their life, or we but the Vanish Oxi Action Carpet & Upholstery Stain Remover; we went for the second ... So I literally just spilt an entire can of cherry coke on my brand new carpet, even though this time I said I'd be more careful! Anyway, I saw this in the shop and thought I'd give it a go, as I'd seen the advert before. To my surprise, it actually worked... and really well. I can't even see where the stain was anymore, it's as if I ... Read the complete review

While sitting writing a couple of reviews tonight, in particular one on Health and Fitness magazine, I promptly dropped the magazine right off the sofa knocking my rather large glass of red wine across my lovely beige carpet! not the most sensible colour for a house with a baby but the carpet was here a long time before my son was even thought ... When we bought our present house 6 years ago we were lucky enough to have been left with great carpets throughout - not exactly our taste in colour - but fantastic quality. The hall & stairs are carpeted in a deep beige, but thanks to a thick mat outside & a 'Magimat' inside the front door we had managed to keep carpet clean ... Read the complete review

We have been experiencing the joys of potty training lately so as you can imagine there have been a few accidents here and there. At this exact moment I am pretty paranoid that my house stinks of wee but I've been assured it doesn't! I've had this in the cupboard for quite a while. I bought it when we moved into our house because we ... Read the complete review

Our mid-blue carpet in the lounge picks up every speck of dirt it encounters, any dirt that comes into contact with it turns into a dark splodge so I'd been hankering after some of this Vanish carpet cleaner for a week or so. Today I visited our local Wilkos and found a 500ml trigger spray for £3.98 and purchased it intending to use it when the ... Read the complete review

<Background> We have a light beige and yellow patterned sofa, it was given to us by my other half's parents as it wasn't really in use while in their computer room and as we didn't have any furniture when we moved in together it was a god send. We have been meaning to replace it for almost three years now but other ... Read the complete review

I bought a bottle to remove a red wine stain from a carpet that had sat there for 2 months in my bedroom (basically in the hope that I could get my deposit back now I am leaving the rented apartment). The stain actually seemed to fade by itself anyway as the weeks went by with no cleaning whatsoever.
I was amazed to see the stain dissapear after one application! The carpet seems 'slightly' lighter where I sprayed the stuff but this can be put down to wear and tear I am sure - I don't think the landlord will even notice.
It didn't work quite so well on the white duvet and left small red blotches behind. I'm trying to google how in the hell it actually works.

When it is that I spill some food, (Or mouldy grass the cat has chewed,) Upon my carpet blue and bright, I hold my head and exclaim "damn!", However if I thought about my actions, Ignoring mental warring factions, I'd see the solution is painfully clear, (To go to the pub and drink some beer,) ... The title just about says it all really. Vanish carpet and upholstery cleaner is a product that no home should be without - especially if there are kids in it. As I have two of the little monsters, there are usually a number of times a day when Vanish come into it's own here. Muddy footprints, spills, ground in food etc. (Ugh) I ... Read the complete review

After reading the two reviews about this product here on dooyoo and how it worked on cleaning up tough stains (including vomit) from carpets, I had high hopes for it. To my dismay, this product let me down in a big way. I have two large, rectangular floor carpets in high traffic areas of my home. My wife and I vacuum these rugs ... Read the complete review

We too had a beige carpet in the hallway of our last house. Infact in our childless days it had seemed a good idea to have the whole house carpeted light beige. (Not listeneing to parental advice about forgiving patterns!). With one baby and one toddler we have now moved, (not solely due to incompatibilty of children and plain carpets of course), ... I have just spent the day washing my carpets! I used Vanish carpet shampoo as it was on special offer at Tesco and seemed a big enough bottle to all of the carpets I needed it too. Our house has beige carpets in the hallways and mud, leaves and grass is being constantly wheeled in by our buggy so a good stain remover is essential. This shampoo ... Read the complete review
