“ 500ml bottle. Stain remover. Vanish Oxi Action Multi Gel is a multi-purpose stain remover powerful enough to remove tough stains — especially the most difficult greasy stains such as lipstick, grease, or salad dressing. The formula is super concetrated to last twice as long as normal liquid and it is super convenient to use as a pre-treatment, in-wash booster or as a soaking agent. Its bleach free formula is suitable for whites, colours, and even delicate fabrics such as wool and silk. „
I have used Vanish for some time and only had some success with it. I say some because if I just added the powder to my wash not all stains were removed.
Reckitt Benckiser also sells a little gem of a product - the Vanish pre-wash stain bar. This bar is still available at supermarkets Asda, Morrisons and Wilkinsons, but it is not always on their shelves, so you many have to ask them for it. It works on all the stains I have ever had. You simply wet the bar (it's like a bar of soap) and rub it on the stain, whether it is wet or dry, then put the garment into the washing machine. The only draw back is if you have got a football kit, in that ugh state, it will take a long while going over the whole kit with a bar of soap. This is where the new Vanish Oxi Action Extra Hygiene Gel comes into it's own. However, it would not work completely until I gave the extra dirty clothes a pre-wash treatment, so extra work is still involved, by rubbing directly onto each stain or by soaking.
The Oxi Action Extra Hygiene also claims to have the added advantage of killing 99.9% of bacteria even on a low temperature wash. The dirty football kit wash can now be done with confidence that the blood, sweat and tears have been washed away, at least until the next match.
Like many washing products of this nature they are not cheap to buy I paid £4.41 for a 940ml bottle at Tesco. The recommended amount to use for each soaking or wash is 100ml, my reckoning is that you will only get just over 9 washes out of one bottle. This makes your washing cost about 48p per wash, on top of your other washing powders etc.
The ingredients information does show that the product contains harmful items, bleaching agent and hydrogen peroxide, therefore I would be careful on how much of this product is used at any one time, and not go over the 100ml each wash.
Apply directly to the stain and use the Smart Cap to pre-treat tough stains. Manufacturer: Reckitt Benckiser.
