... mine in Tesco for £2.92. It has the usual features of a spray bottle with a nozzle enabling the spray to be off, a fine spray or a thicker spray. As it is in a spray format it is ideal for use on larger surfaces and vertical ones such as the splash tiles in the shower. The spray itself is a blue liquid and the formula has recently been changed so the fragrance is actually quite pleasant (when I first started using this product a few years back I used to choke on the haze but this is a big improvement!)...more

Viakal: Use citric acid instead! (189 words)

I'd recommend buying citric acid in powder form, and make your own acid solution by just mixing it with water. It's significantly cheaper than Viakal, and you can adjust the acidity level by just adding more or less water. It's also great for cleaning cat water fountains, and their water pumps, which get clogged up frequently with either limescale or catfood! You can actually hear it bubbling away inside the pump motor when you add the acid. Citric acid is also ideal for descaling your kettle element - just cover the element with water, add a tablespoon of citric acid powder and mix it in, then leave it for an hour or two, and voila: your kettle looks brand ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review Victory with Viakal (924 words)

Living in a hard water area as we do, bathroom cleaning can be a real chore, being a never-ending battle to keep lime-scale at bay. No matter how frequently the bathroom is cleaned, the lime-scale returns in no time, and I swear that if you were to sit there for a few hours staring at the taps, you would actually see it materialise before your very eyes. Ordinary bathroom cleaners are fine for giving the bath and washbasin a good old scrub, but unfortunately, they don’t get rid of lime-scale, and before you know it, a crusty mass starts to form around the base of the taps, on the tap-heads themselves, and around the plugholes. Fortunately for us, Procter and ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Viakal: Tough On Scale. (736 words)

We live in an area where the water is medium to hard and that means that we often find that limescsale builds up fairly quickly. Only yesterday I was quite shocked to see just how much scale had collected inside of my kettle and it shamed me into descaling it. When it comes to the mixer tap in the kitchen and the basin and sink taps I always seem to be spraying them with the Viakal limescale remover. If I leave them to their own devices they would soon look dull and tatty. Years ago we just had to scrub them and hope for the best, sometimes I used to use a solution of vinegar in warm water to try to remove the scale but it was always fairly useless if I ...  Read the complete review

This is one of those cleaning products that until I had a place of my own I would never give a second glance at but that I now can't live without! THE LOVE AFFAIR BEGINS! It first came into its own when I was moving out of a rented flat and wanted to give it a really good spruce up before I left (to make sure I got my full deposit back!) After cleaning the bathroom I noticed all up the back of the tiles by the shower there were these horendous watermarks that I'd obviously been oblivious to for the last 6 months or convieniently chosen to ignore! Trusty old mom suggested I try this prodcut and there the love affair began! Viakal is ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Viakal: Great cleaner but expensive.... (131 words)

I used to clean my baths and sinks with Jif for many years, putting up with the white floury remains that were often left behind and then I discovered Viakal & I haven't looked back since. It is a limescale cleaner and is excellent at cleaning without leaving any marks behind at all. It is pretty expensive and for that reason I sometimes grudgingly go back to using a different type of cleaner but I always end up going back to Viakal. What I tend to do is pour a little of it around the taps to sink in and remove any limescale before starting to clean the actual sink with it. It leaves it with a lovely shine. I just wish the manufacturers would bring down the ...  Read the complete review
