I like Jelly Belly beans and when they branched out into other things particularly car air fresheners I was impressed as they smell like the actual beans. I bought this in Tesco last week, it was on the reduced shelf with a lot of Christmas products. Instead of £8 it was only £1.50 which seemed like a bargain.
The reed diffuser is a small glass bottle which contains the bright red 'very cherry' liquid. Inside the box are also the reeds there are 5 in total to put in the liquid to diffuse the scent through your home. There is 50ml of fragrance in the little glass bottle.
The packaging was very nice and there were pictures of little jelly beans all over the box.
To use the diffuser you simply remove the lid on the glass bottle, take the reeds out of their plastic packet and place them in the liquid spreading them out evenly.
When I initially opened the bottle the smell was nice it smelt like cherry drops so not a very natural smell but very nice nevertheless.
I placed this on my landing which isn't too big in the hope it would make it smell nice.
However the product was really disappointing. I couldn't smell the cherry at all so I moved it to the living room and again I couldn't smell it. Even when I left the house and came back I still couldn't smell anything.
Over all this was really disappointing. At full price this product costs more than the equivalent Air Wick diffuser which I find really good.
I wouldn't recommend this product apart from the liquid being a nice colour and fitting in with my decor there isn't any benefit to this at all.
I was very disappointed.
My mum bought this diffuser as she is quite fond of smellies and candles and such. Personally I can give or take smellies but this one got my attention. Usually my mother favours lighter or neutral scents like vanilla and had used diffusers from Wax Lyrical before.
It is a glass bottle of scent that comes with some wooden sticks that soak up the liquid and are meant to prolong the scent until it fills the room, or the liquid evaporates from the sticks. This can be a really long time and I noticed in my mum's living room it lasted for 2 weeks with a strong smell all the time before it was finally gone.
I don't really like the smell of fruit too much as I find it sickly and this is very sickly. However it is noticably cherry-like, not that it saves it any.
The smell was strong, but my mum's living room is small. The scent stayed the same intensity the entire time until all the liquid was used up. This isn't such a great thing if you don't like the scent.
Afterwards everything is thrown away. I am not sure if you can recycle the wooden sticks. The bottle itself was very sticky and a bit gross afterwards but might be worth saving if you reuse it for arts and crafts storage or whatever.
Also, my boyfriend has asthma but this didn't set him off as he told me some smellies can, however it did aggravate my dad's allergies - he was sneezing and such and acting as if he had hayfever.
I am not sure how much my mum paid for this, I notice it is about £8.49 on amazon at the moment. I would give it a pass unless you really, really like cherries. Even if you are mad about cherries, even, maybe consider a Yankee candle or something else as I wouldn't pay almost £10 for this.
I bought this mini diffuser about a year ago from amazon because I'd been wanting to try the jelly belly candles but I thought that a diffuser might be longer lasting and better value for money. I can't remember how much I paid for it, however the current retail price is £6.
The product comes in quite a small, good quality clear glass bottle which has 5ml of scented red liquid in it. It has a metal top which you screw off and then you need to put the wooden sticks which come with it into the bottle. This was easy to do and I didn't have any problem with the sticks falling out or anything.
As soon as the lid is unscrewed the smell is really strong and noticeable and once I put the wooden sticks in it didn't take long before the whole of my bedroom smelt like artificial, sweet cherries (more like fruit flavoured cherry sweets than real cherries though) and the smell is so strong that I felt slightly ill to be honest!!
I tried putting it downstairs as I thought the smell was so intense because the bedroom isn't that big but it was just as intense in the large living room and in the end I had to put the lid back on and throw the sticks away because the smell was so strong!
It would actually be a pretty nice smell if it wasn't so strong and I think the strong vanilla undertone that it has makes it smell quite cheap and nasty. I think that if I sat in a room with this for more than 20 minutes I would have a really bad headache and feel sick afterwards. The smell lingers for ages too even once the lid is back on and I had to open the doors and windows to try and get the smell out of the house because I didn't want my little boy breathing it in.
I definitely do not recommend this as I find it far too overpowering and sweet, I do usually like sweet things but this is way too strong and artificial. Some people might like it but I don't. One out of five stars.
So thanks to Dooyoo I am a big lover of shopping on amazon and frequently find myself patrolling the website on my app for new and lovely things to add to my basket/wishlist. Of course amazon love enticing me by also having a little recommendations page when I click on my app and this product was one of them that caught my eye.
I had bought some previous items in the jelly belly range - a candle and 2 air fresheners for my car and had lot's of success with them. Last year november we had an awful incident with a candle at home (it still upsets me to think about it!) so whilst I wanted to keep my home constantly smelling nice I wanted a safer option and so this diffuser looked right up my street.
The diffuser is basically a little glass bottle filled with red, cherry fragranced oil. It comes in a simple plastic packaging with 5 little sticks reed sticks which when our flat is nice and warm, the oil evaporates and gorgeously dispenses around the room.
I really like this and as one my resolutions is to properly fix up our flat, we had a surface in the living room over some cupboards which used to be filled with clutter but I have now re-organised this space so it only holds some nice photos, some cookery books and this diffuser is the centre piece. It looks quite little and unique but it still does a really good job!
The smell is very cherry indeed, which is lovely and sweet and not at all sickly. When in the living room I can definitely smell it and I can't get enough! The layout in our home is that our kitchen and front room is more like one big room and so when I am cooking sadly the food smells do overpower it a bit, but once I have tidied up and we are settled in the sofa for the evening this is really all you can smell and it makes my lounging at home experience that much more pleasant! I have gotten loads of compliments when people come over which makes me smile so this is definitely a big hit!
The other small niggle is that this is really small so it literally can only be appreciated in the living room. My sister had a vanilla diffuser (of a completely different brand) not long ago and it was so strong and powerful at her house she kept it in bathroom and it could be smelt in the hallway and even on the stairs if the door was open! With this diffuser, even though our flat is teeny tiny it can literally only be smelt around the small area in the living room where it is placed i.e. sofas and dining area.
The diffuser has lasted long as I've had it over a week or so and the oil has barely gone down. The packaging recommends to alternate the reeds around and twist them over from time to time so the oil can constantly keep circulating around and I have not found the fragrance to subside or ease it is just as strong as it was when I first opened it and left it out!
It costs £5.95 for this 50ml bottle which I thought was reasonable considering I will probably use this for months to come. The smell is lovely and it circulates easily and is not overpowering or sickly. There are other scents in the range like Blueberry, Strawberry, Lemon & Lime, Sizzling Cinammon, Toasted Marshmallow, and Tangerine but the one that is next on my shopping list for my bedroom is Coconut! Prices vary between £5-£6 for a 50ml diffuser so these won't break the bank so I'd definitely recommend them!
