Advantages: Good Value, goes a long way, covers well and is easy to use.

Disadvantages: Not as much colour choice as some brands.

With flood restoration work ongoing , albeit slowlyyyyyyyyy, in my house Hubby and I have started spring cleaning and painting the bedrooms in the hope that we will be able to move back in sometime during the next month. Despite the majority of work being paid for by the Insurers it has been an expensive, as well as stressful, process. In the end we purchased our emulsion from Wickes on line via a cash back site. The added bonus was:-

No travel time and expenses.
As we do not drive and our local Wickes is rather out of the way that was great for us.
The cash back.
Good value products that were also good quality. A little goes a long way.

Wickes Colourways Emulsion paint.

Amongst the tins of white and off white gloss and emulsion that we bought, we also purchased a couple of tins of Wickes Colourways emulsion paint. We bought a dark, almost royal blue and a pale sky blue colour and I have to say that we were pleased with these products.

The downside of the dark blue was that it was a so and so to get out of the brushes after use. However I think that this would be true of any brand in such a dark yet bright shade of colour.

The problem with the paler blue was that it did not cover quite as well and needed a second coat whether you wanted to or not.

However on the whole I would recommend this paint. With two coats it gave a smooth finish. It would appear to be tough and long lasting also and seems good at retaining its colour when wiped down. There was not as varied a colour choice as a brand such as Dulux but there was sufficient available.

Colourways is available in gloss, undercoat and emulsion in a multitude of finishes such as matt and satin. There is a quick dry option also.

We found that the emulsion was fairly low odour although you obviously need to follow the makers advice on the packaging re ventilation etc. It was touch dry fairly soon and was dry enough to apply another coat in a mere two hours. A 5L tin of the Colourways emulsion cost £15.99 but was on offer at two tins for £25 so check out current offers.

Usually we tend to use a brand of paint such as Dulux but we were so pleased with the results of the Wickes paint that I shall have no hesitation in using it again.

Recommended at 10/10. Do not let the own brand name put you off.

Please note that despite Wickes best attempts at packaging the dark blue paint had leaked slightly. We did not complain or return the goods but it is worth opening the packaging and checking before you sign to accept the delivery.

Summary: A versatile product.
