Advantages: smell comes through quickly. lovely fragrance
Disadvantages: bit 'heady' after a while
It is all Hallmark's fault, really it IS, because they have an offer on at the moment (5/8) - buy six wax tarts and get another one free. Furthermore did you know Hallmark have recently bought out a loyalty scheme? Fill your card and you get £10 to spend (details in store)
My daughters and I could not resist and we all love YC although we all have different tastes (or, in this case, smells). I tend to opt for the spicy, woody smells so I was surprised when I liked the 'Baby Powder' one so much. Just one whiff and it took me right back to when my girls were new babies .... I just had to choose one of these tarts as one of my seven.
It comes as shown in the Dooyoo picture and you can get a fairly good idea of the smell even though the tart is encased in heat-sealed plastic. I popped one in my burner and the smell started to come through after only a couple of minutes. After about half an hour the room was smelling deliciously of baby/ talcum powder, then a scent with reminded me of lilies, then finally I'm sure I could pick out a subtle strawberry smell.
However, after about an hour I began to feel to bit 'headachy' and my eyes were feeling a little irritated so I blew out the tealight candle below and have decided I will only use it for shot periods at a time or may well try mixing it with 'Fluffy Towels'? Any suggestions to make it slightly less strong would be much appreciated!
Although it is still one of my favourite Yankee fragrances I must say how surprised I am by the intensity of it especially as it is named 'Baby Powder'!
Luckily I rarely get headaches or irritated eyes and maybe these were nothing to do with the scent but I did notice I felt much better a few minutes after extinguishing the candle - however, it was worth it because the whole house smelt fresh, clean and homely.
summary
*******
- 30g for under £1 is a small price to pay for such a delicious smell
- the smell was great and long lasting
- aptly named (for a strong baby powder!)
- I would buy again but, as stated, would not let it burn for long periods
- worth a sniff if you are choosing candles
Summary: if you like the 'softer', more subltly YCs this may appeal
