      a pleasant festive scent

Yankee Candle offer a huge range of scented products for the home.

      ~Be Jolly~

Be Jolly is a USA exclusive, Christmas scent. Within the UK, Be Jolly can be purchased in a tumbler or wax tart. I have the wax tart which is disc of solid, scented wax. You pop it in a tart burner, light a tealight underneath and allow it to melt and release the authentic scent within. Each tart is said to hold 8 hours of scent.

Be Jolly is a bright red tart. There is a plastic wrapper with a label showing tree baubles. Yankee describe Be Jolly as...

''Tis the season to spread Christmas cheer. Holiday spices are arranged in perfect harmony with notes of hollyberry and pine'

Be Jolly can be purchased from www.yankeescents4.com priced at £1.65 (tart) and £23.99 (tumbler). eBay UK also offer a tart for £1.50 and a votive for £1.55.

      ~My Thoughts~

As you know, I love burning Yankee tarts and have a soft spot for Christmas scents. I love everything about Christmas and sometimes I just need to have that festive ambience in my home to cheer me up. I bought Be Jolly from eBay during a Yankee splurge. The USA tarts are a little more expensive than those over here but I don't mind as I have found some gorgeous scents.

Be Jolly melts into a bright pool of red wax. Before it begins to melt, it smells absolutely gorgeous and has a delicate spiciness about it. It takes 15 minutes or so for the tart to melt and for the scent to filter around. Within 30 minutes, the scent seeps out from the living room and can be witnessed in my hall way and kitchen. This is quite a powerful scent and fills every corner of the rooms with a gorgeous aroma.

Be Jolly is definitely Christmassy and when the scent floats around our flat, it gives off a welcoming, feel-good atmosphere which I really love. It has a pleasant depth but is bright and 'happy' at the same time. The most prominent aroma is the spices - they say holiday spices but I can pick up on cinnamon mainly with something else taming it a little. It is very warming and cosy and a treat to relax to in the evening.

The hollyberry adds a delicate sweetness to the scent and the pine simply rounds off the scent and takes the edge of the spiciness. It doesn't have that awful cleaning smell but it does add an extra touch of Christmas scent. The overall scent is very natural - very authentic and quite rich.

      ~Conclusion~

Be Jolly is a gorgeous scent to burn in the evenings as it creates a lovely ambience. I burned this across a few evenings for a few hours each time and found I got 10 hours of impressive aroma from it before it started to die down a little.

I enjoyed using Be Jolly - it was festive but not as appealing as some of the UK scents so I wouldn't go out of my way to repurchase this one. It is lovely though and worth a try if you like spicy/sweet scents.

      Thanks for reading :)
