Yankee Candle Beach Flowers
Advantages: a pleasant scent, looks nice
Disadvantages: not my favourite, very subtle
Those who read my reviews regularly will be aware of my love for Yankee Candles. I received a few wax tarts as part of a Secret Santa at Christmas time and this review discusses my experience of 'Beach Flowers'.
This particular Yankee scent is available in a few different formats including housewarmer jars, votive samplers and wax tarts. A wax tart is a disc of wax scented with natural essential oils. A tart is said to have 8 hours of fragrance and should be used in an appropriate tart burner with a tealight underneath. This particular wax tart is a lilac colour and is neatly presented in a tight plastic. The label adorning the tart illustrates some pretty flowers.
The official Yankee description of Beach Flowers is 'like delicate keepsakes from the sea..the lovely scent of tuberose, lily and hyacinth blossoms balanced with soft watery notes'.
~Price and Availability~
Beach Flowers wax tart can be bought online. The average wax tart price is £1.25. Stockists include www.yankee.co.uk, Amazon and eBay UK.
Whilst Beach Flowers isn't a scent I would have chosen for myself, I was very pleased to receive it in my gift. It looked very pretty and I was looking forward to melting it. I currently have two tart burners - a regular burner (requires a tealight) and an electric burner. I chose to melt my tart in my electric burner. The electric burner takes a little longer to melt a brand new wax tart but less time to melt a previously used wax tart. I like to melt my wax tarts for a few hours at a time as a way of making my home smell lovely.
Beach Flowers melts into a pool of beautiful, lilac coloured wax. I would say that Beach Flowers is more aimed towards using in the Spring or Summer months. I have opted to try mine during the colder months as a change to the cinnamon and sweet tarts that I have been using through Christmas. I have enjoyed using this one during the day whilst I go about the house doing my cleaning.
Beach Flowers isn't an overpowering scent. The moment i unwrapped the tart I could smell a light, fresh floral aroma which was quite nice but subtle. As the tart melts, it does take a good half hour for a noticeable level of scent to become apparent. Beach Flowers is a beautiful scent. It isn't a scent which will fill your entire home though. I placed it in the burner in my kitchen and found that my kitchen smelled gorgeous and I could detect a faint hint of the tart in my living room (joined to our kitchen).
I'm not crazy about heavy floral scents but Yankee have created a light, fresh floral aroma with Beach Flowers. It is feminine, bright yet mild. I find that it freshens any room well and smells incredibly clean. The main scent is a fragrant yet subtle floral/light aquatic combination with the tuberose and hyacinth being most prominent. The lily and watery notes tame what could potentially be an overpowering scent. It is simply a nice, refreshing fragrance which leaves the room smelling pleasant.
Beach Flowers is a simple yet well arranged scent. I witnessed around 7 or 8 hours of noticeable scent before the scent starts to fade and becomes very subtle. I find this one nice to use but it isn't one of my favourites. I did appreciate receiving it as a gift.
Thanks for reading :)
Summary: simply a nice Yankee scent
