In the past few months I have myself, like a lot of people on here become a wee bit addicted to buying anything Yankee. I love this range of candles, diffusers and wax tarts and the likes and I often by myself little wax tarts as they have a burn time of up to 8 hours and there is a wonderful array of scents to choose from and I often buy them at £1.20ish a tart which I think is a brilliant little buy for my home.
My latest acquired tart is called Black Cherry, and as I love cherries so much it seemed a sensible option for me and I wanted to burn mine in my kitchen after I cleaned it up from top to bottom for my parents latest visit!
The packaging of a Yankee Wax Tart is as ever simple. It's a fluted and fat lump of reddish coloured wax tightly wrapped in a see through plastic where we are told what it is on the front with a photograph of cherries on there too then on the back of it do's and don'ts are shown in the form of diagrams and contact details for the Yankee company are given. Its easy to pull the wrapper from the tart then engraved into it we are again told that it is Yankee.
Using a wax tart couldn't be simpler. You need an oil burner with a tea light in it and to either place all of your wax tart in the top if you have enough room or you can break it up which easy to do or simply use 'some' tart. Some Yankee users like to break up different tarts and burn them that way, though I'm a bit of a purist so don't.
Within a couple of minutes this burns down to a rich red coloured liquid and the smell follows fast in that time to and I can say is this is a mouth-wateringly, delicious, sweet and fruity, authentic cherry smell! It really is very sweet and pleasant and true to a cherry smell. You can of course continuously burn this though if for any reason you want to you can extinguish it to which the wax firms back up till the next time you want to use it.
I found I got about 7 hours burn time from mine used with unscented Yankee tealights which I like as I find them to burn so evenly and all in all I think this is a wonderful, relaxing foody scent for your home which even after I had been burning it a while continued to stay apparent for a good hour or so afterwards!
Nice one Yankee once again!
