I have been a fan of Yankee Candles for a long time now, and over the years I have tried a variety of fragrances and candle sizes produced by this incredible, innovative candle company, but Black Cherry has always remained my favorite fragrance.

Although it can be argued that Yankee Candles are very expensive, if you appreciate good quality and true to life fragrances then it is well worth the cost. I regularly buy my candles either in my local branch of Clintons, which often has offers on or certain fragrances on special offer, or online, where there are a number of retailers offering very competitive prices and new, exciting fragrances.

Yankee Candles come in a range of sizes, starting with the wax tarts and ending with the large jars. There is something to suit everyone in terms of price, size and burn time. When I first began using Yankee Candles, I bought the sampler (or votive) candles, as they were less than £2 and would give me a good idea of how the fragrance smelt when being burned, allowing me to decide if it was a fragrance I would like to purchase in a larger size.

The wax tarts burn for eight hours, and retail at around £1.20 each. You can even combine the tarts to create your own fragrances. I often find that just burning one of these tarts is enough to fill a large part of my house with the fragrance. The large jars cost £19.99 and burn for 90-150 hours. Yankee Candle recommends that you burn the jar candles for a minimum of 3 hours at a time to stop the candle from tunneling and to get maximum fragrance from the candle.

The Black Cherry candles are a lovely, rich deep red color that does remind you of cherries. As soon as you remove the packaging or take off the lid, the intense, deep, fruity black cherry scent immediately hits you. It captures the rich, juicy sweetness of ripe cherries and brings them straight into your home. Whilst the scent is intense, it is not overpowering or sickly sweet. It is the perfect fragrance to uplift you and wake you up.

I often find myself noticing the fragrance if I move around the house as I catch a hint of it whilst I have it burning in another room. It is a scent that lingers and travels well. Remember to not leave candles unattended though!
