“ Brand: Yankee Candle / Type: Candle / Category: Home Fragrance „
Yankee Candle is an American company offering home fragrance products.
Lighthouse Point is a rare scent which is part of the Yankee Simply Home range. At the moment, it is available within the UK in wax tart format. A wax tart (for those who have never used Yankee) is a disc of scented wax which should be placed in a tart burner. A tealight should be placed underneath and as the tart melts, the scent will be released into the air. Each tart is said to offer around 8hours of scent.
Due to how rare this particular scent is, it is difficult to locate the official Yankee description of the scent. Lighthouse Point is a medium blue colour and shrink wrapped. The label on the tart shows a lighthouse with a cloudy sky in the background.
This wax tart can be bought in a lot of 3 from Amazon for £4.99. Alternatively, you can also purchase it from eBay for the same price.
I picked this wax tart up in a Birthdays superstore. They sell lots of Simply Home tarts and I was attracted to this one because of the colour to be honest. I pay £1.35 which is more than I would usually pay for a tart but considering how rare it is, it was well worth the price. This one doesn't even appear of the Yankee Candle American websites so it must be a hard to find scent! Thank goodness for Amazon and eBay!
I use wax tarts on a daily basis and have scents for different purposes. I like something rich and warming for burning at night when I want to relax. For day time burning, I like something fresh to fill my home whilst I do my household chores. I had no idea of what Lighthouse Point would smell like. It carried a slight, soapy scent through the packaging and clearly wasn't going to be the strongest scent from Yankee. As I unwrapped it, I was intrigued by the fruity aroma. I popped the tart in my burner and within 15mins, the tart was fully melted in a refreshing blue pool of wax.
~Look At That View..Smell That Scent..~
The first time I burned this tart, the scent took a while to become fully noticeable. After 30mins or so, a gorgeous aroma lifted up from my burner, seeped out from my alcove and filtered around my living room. Lighthouse Point is certainly a mood lifting scent - light and fresh. It is an ideal day time scent and is freshens up my living room and is very airy. It does provide freshness to my kitchen and hall way and any homely scents disappear.
Whilst the scent filters around my living room, a gorgeous, sweet and fruity aroma bursts out and is absolutely divine. I find it difficult to pinpoint the exact scent of this tart but it has a bitter sweet edge - possibly blueberry and other fragrant berries. There is a citrussy undertone to the scent which is pleasant It has an almost exotic aroma which gives my the impression of that lighthouse overlooking a golden beach somewhere warm. It really is a beautiful scent and is uplifting and very natural. It lingers gracefully and never over powers or becomes too much.
Burning this tart for 3hours or so over the course of a few days, I was able to experience around 9hours of consistency scent. After each tealight went out, the fruity scent from this tart hung in the air for 30mins before becoming very faint and disappearing.
I can highly recommend the scent of Lighthouse Point. It made my home smell very clean and fresh without the need to open windows. It is the perfect day time scent which would be ideal for burning in the Spring whilst doing a clear out of the house and Spring clean. It is rare so I will be buying a few more.
