Advantages: Smell does linger for quite a while after it is extingushed.
Disadvantages: Overpowering and too sweet smelling
I have always been a big Yankee Candles fan. I buy them all the time and have never been disappointed with them.
While in a local store I saw this Cherries on Snow candle and since it was a mix of my two favourite things (cherry and candles) I was instantly drawn to it. When I opened the lid to try it I thought it smelled good enough to eat and I was sold. At £15.99 for a medium sized jar it is by no means cheap, but I have always found them to have a decent burn time with a nice long lasting scent and decided that the price tag was worth it.
Initially when it was lit I found the scent of the candle to be subtle and pleasant. It reminded me of cherry drop sweets. However as time went on I felt the smell became overpowering and almost too sweet and sickly, in fact the scent became so strong that it began to make me sneeze and make my head hurt so I quickly extinguished the candle and put the lid back on.
As with all Yankie candles the smell did linger in the air for quite a while after it was blown out (a definite positive if it is a smell you are enjoying) it just wasn't my cup of tea and one I won't be buying again.
Summary: Ok in (very) small doses
