~Cinnamon and Sugar~

Cinnamon and Sugar is a collection of scented candle products from Yankee Candle. This particular scent can be sampled in different formats including candle jars and tealights. If you simply want to sample the scent of Cinnamon Sugar but without the high price tag, a wax tart is the way to go.

A wax tart is a disc of solid wax which is infused with natural extracts. The tart should be melted in an appropriate tart burner with a tealight underneath. Each tart is said to offer at least 8 hours of scent and the tart can be re-used until the scent is completely gone.

The Cinnamon and Sugar wax tart is a pale brown colour. The tightly wrapped tart features a picture label illustrating cinnamon sticks over sprinkled sugar. The official description of this scent is 'a warm, sweet sprinkle of heaven..brown sugar and cinnamon with notes of nutmeg and vanilla'.

~My Thoughts~

My Cinnamon and Sugar wax tart was initially given to me by a lovely friend who obviously knows me pretty well! Not only do I adore the Yankee Candle brand and wax tarts in general, but cinnamon is a true favourite scent of mine and anything sugary is bound to be a hit with a sweet-addict like myself. This beautifully
presented wax tart is definitely one of my favourites and one which I purchase in tart form regularly.

In solid form this beauty smells warm and beautifully sweet. It takes very little time to fully melt into a golden pool of wax. I pop the full tart in the deep bowl of my burner and find that the scent is quite to escape the bowl and fill my entire livingroom very quickly. The strength of the melted wax is favourable as it can be detected around our flat in various strengths. The overall scent quickly eliminates any foody odours in my home and flows perfectly. It is by no means a weak scent but it doesn't come across as being as heady as other Cinnamon scents such as Sparkling Cinnamon and Cinnamon Stick.

Cinnamon Sugar is the perfect tart to melt on a cold evening as it really gives a warm, cosy ambience around my flat and is very welcoming to rare visitors. It is a stunning, layered scent which I find to be quite comforting and relaxing. Cinnamon Sugar is quite different from the other cinnamon based scents and this is down to the other scent notes which are mixed in with it. The main scent I can detect around my flat reminds me of homemade cakes - delicious, aromatic and still warm from the oven. This scent is highly appealing especially as I do not do much baking at the moment but crave that 'fresh baked' aroma in my home.

The different fragrance notes come through individually as the wax filters around. The cinnamon and nutmeg combination is warm and comes across as being delicately spiced. The brown sugar and vanilla blend lightens the cinnamon and stops it from becoming too prominent. The sweetness of the sugar and vanilla is just perfect and never becomes sickly or synthetic. I do feel Yankee have included the right amount of the spicy notes and the sweet notes to mingle together rather than counteract each other - this makes for a well balanced and overall delicious smelling wax tart!

~Conclusion~

If you are a fan of delicately spicy, sweet scents then this one is for you. It is perfectly constructed and layered. It is one of the best scents in the Yankee Candle collection. The cinnamon scent lingers for an hour or so after the tealight goes out. I find the quality of this wax tart to be excellent and I am able to detect a desirable strength of scent for around 12 hours in total before a more diluted scent for a few hours more. I am very pleased with this scent and can highly recommend it.
