Yankee Candle Fruit Fusion
Advantages: Lovely citrus scent, quite strong at first.
Disadvantages: Fragrance suddenly disappeared after around 6.5 hours.
After reading some great reviews of Yankee's Fruit Fusion, I was looking forward to burning the wax tart version of this fragranced wax which my daughter bought me recently. As a fan of fruity fragrances, I was confident this was going to be one of my Yankee favourites.
Fruit Fusion seems to be an ideal fragrance for the summer months. Described as 'Summer-licious' this wax tart is a fusion of berries, orange and lime. Sweet and tangy with an inviting warm orange coloured wax, this tart appealed immediately on all counts.
You can expect to achieve around 8 hours of fragrance from burning a wax tart and I have found this varies from fragrance to fragrance. Whilst most wax tarts will provide you with the 8 hours fragrance or even longer on some occasions, there have been times when I have also experienced the odd poor fragrance here and there which has disappointed me and fallen way short of providing 8 hours of fragrance.
Thankfully this has been rare and I have mostly found these Yankee wax tarts to be a quality product and from the strength of fragrance from this Fruit Fusion wax tart before I had even removed it from its packaging, I had high hopes that this would be another strong, long-lasting quality wax tart from Yankee.
When placing my Fruit Fusion wax tart into my burner and lighting a tealight underneath, it was only around two minutes later when I began to detect the fruity fragrance filling the air. It was initially very strong and emitted a lovely citrus scent which I could smell around my home.
It was just as nice as I expected and the fragrance wafted out into my hallway and up the stairs.
After extinguishing the tealight the citrus scent hung in the air for some time after, which I was also pleased about.
Usually when burning wax tarts I find the fragrance begins to fade gradually after the initial few hours, however with this one, it just seemed to disappear all of a sudden. This is something I have came across once or twice before but I was very surprised that this happened with this particular fragrance, as usually the stronger ones do not do this in my experience.
Indeed it seemed as if one minute the citrus fragrance was there and then suddenly it disappeared and I couldn't smell it anymore. A few minutes later, my partner also commented that he couldn't smell the fragrance anymore.
The fact that I had read great reviews praising Fruit Fusion has made me wonder if my wax tart was a flawed one and I plan to purchase another just to see what happens next time.
I achieved around six and a half hours of fragrance before it suddenly disappeared and whilst it is not the worst wax tart I have used, it fell short of being one of the better ones. I was looking forward to this one maybe being one of my favourites and so ultimately it was a little bit of a disappointment to me.
As I mentioned earlier, my wax tart was a gift purchased from a branch of Collectables and so I am not sure of the price paid, but you can expect to pay around £1.20 for wax tarts from branches of Clintons and Collectables as well as department stores and prices start from around 99p online from www.yankee.co.uk and Amazon, although stores such as Clintons seem to have regular sales of Yankee candles and you can pick up some bargains.
Although I was a little disappointed by the performance of my Fruit Fusion wax tart, I will be buying another to see if it performs any better next time around, as it is such a lovely fragrance whilst it lasts.
Summary: A lovely fragrance but didn't last as long as I expected.
