Yankee Candle Fruit Fusion
Advantages: Fresh, fruity and invigorating
Disadvantages: Possibly not the best for winter - you'll only start longing for spring
Its Sunday night and there's three hours until Top Gear - there's only one thing for it. Time for a new Yankee tart.
Mr Rarr took the reins with this one and declared that Midnight Jasmine had done her thing and the end was nigh for this dark-blue tart; he announced that we were trying a newbie but when I asked which one it was clearly didn't know that Mother Rarr and I had enjoyed many a pleasant evening watching Midsomer Murders with Fruit Fusion. So I smiled as he popped the bright orange tart into the burner and set the tealight underneath it.
I'm not giving you the life story of Yankee again. We've heard it all before and in the Google-blessed era, if you haven't then you can find it out fairly easily yourself. At this stage the Yankee love on Dooyoo is so strong that I worry repeating this story of American success might cause mass aneurysms amongst our strongest writers and nobody want that, do they?
But I will elaborate on the individual product: Fruit Fusion is, as you probably can see coming a merry country miles away, a fruity tart that's great for spring and summer. With the first sign of sun for approximately 3657 months occurring through the garden doors of Rarr Towers today, I can see my the man of the house went for this scent - the sun made me feel proactive today after a period of illness and a nasty, stressful incident at work so whilst we tackled various housey tasks the benefits of the vitamin D were self-evident - and with Fruit Fusion we get to carry on that vibrant, fresh spring feeling into the evening as well.
Fruit Fusion is an orange wax product that you can get in seemingly all the standard Yankee forms - tarts right through to blimmin' great jars of scenty wax goodness. So you can indulge on whatever budget you like and still have it as a good option as a gift. This was part of a group buy from an ebay seller so I paid roughly £1, but these tend to retail in tart from at about £1.20.
***ANY GOOD THEN?***
Well this has been used in my house about three times now - clearly Mr Rarr forgot but then he is one of these man creatures you hear about and we all know that they are 'challenged' when it comes to remembering the important things in life! (Sorry chaps.)
I have also bought this for my mother as a gift in autumn last year. She loved it so I have repurchased it for her as well.
Very quickly, the first strands of the scent reach you as the tart melts. I have never really paid attention to the label before but the dooyoo image clearly includes lime - this comes through strongly as when I decided to write this review it was inspired by the sharpness of the lime. For me, the tart could be too strong and overbearing but that lovely sharp lime - a favourite scent or flavour of mine - really whips through it and makes it refreshing, invigorating and hugely pleasant.
The base of the scent is clearly citrus - orange is in there, but also the sweetness of berries. But that lime scent stops the berries making it too sweet or cloying - it is a lovely, charming and very inviting scent that I would happily use when asking people around rather than some of the more "you love it or you don't" scents that Yankee have to offer. I would consider it a perfect gift and was thinking it could be a Mothers day present this year if I can just ascertain whether or not Mother Rarr has another favourite first...
I can honestly say that I find this scent invigorating - sitting here with it melted merrily away I could quite happily write about three reviews (I won't subject you poor people to that, honest). But it has taken this early spring-like day, which reminded me in its sunshine, temperature and freshness that it is nearly March, planting season and blossoms are only around the corner, and extended that into a relaxed and happy evening in Rarr Towers. So yes, thoroughly recommended and one of the scents I would be devastated to lose if Yankee ever discontinued. So be warned Yankee. Do it, and you're going on the list.
Summary: Definitely one of the best scents Yankee have produced in my opinion
