I work at a local restaurant as a waitress and in this restaurant are many, many candles. It is my job at the start of the night to refill and light the candles and dotted around also are many different candle holders. We have roughly 10 of these particular one sitting on windowsill and are probably one of my favourites.

As the candles are lit inside, the little coloured squares light up slightly which gives it a much more colourful glow. It's very mellow and subtle (not to be used to actually light things up but to make the room looks prettier.

The only problem I would mention is the trouble refilling them. Though they are not very deep it can still be difficult to lower the candle inside if it is already little without burning yourself. However, it is deep enough to be rather difficult to use a light or small match to light it with the tea candle already placed within them. If you are going to purchase one of these, I'd purchase some longer matches or a lighter with a long head to it so you can light them without burning your fingers.

Overall, any candle over would love one of these. The make the room look so much prettier.

      Glass jar candle holder

I have read numerous reviews about Yankee candles; nearly all positive! So when I was in my local gift shop a few days ago and spotted Yankee candles on sale I knew I had to try a few! There were several sampler candles selling for just 86p (mainly those with a Christmas theme) but there was also a couple of glass candle holders also on sale for just £2.50. At this price I decided to treat myself and left happy with my new purchase.

The candle holder jar is made up of coloured glass squares. The colours are festive and look especially good during the winter months due to the warm red, yellow and green colours of the glass. The jar is about 3 inches tall and the sampler candles I bought fit inside the jar perfectly with about an inch to spare at the top.

I bought two candle holders and think they look gorgeous when both contain candles. The glow of the candle can be seen through the coloured glass making any room look cosy and warm. I like to burn candles whilst we eat and these look really impressive on my dining room fireplace shelf. I have also placed a jar in the bathroom with my favourite baby powder candle. The effect is very pretty and not only do I get a lovely fragrance, but a mesmerising glow to watch! All very relaxing!

One the candle has burnt down to the bottom; it will need to be removed from the holder. I use a blunt knife to gently scrape away any remaining wax. I did read that if you place the candle holder into the freezer the wax will be easier to remove, a very useful tip!

Overall this is a very pretty candle holder that looks lovely when it has a candle burning inside and really enhances my room!

A great little candle holder jar

I have never really been a huge fan of candles, but lately I have noticed an influx of reviews of Yankee Candle products, and was really curious to try them. I managed to find a shop in my town that stocks loads of Yankee Candle products, from the candles themselves, to various different holders. I only wanted to purchase the small votive candles in case I didn't like them, so I decided to purchase 2 votive holders to put them into. I chose this particular holder as I feel it looks really festive for this time of year, and at just £3.50 each, they were very good value for money too!

The Yankee Candle glass square votive holder is a small glass jar into which you can place Yankee Candle votive candles. The jar stands at about 3 inches tall, and is the perfect fit for the votives. You simply drop them in through the top, and when they are new, they stand a few millimetres below the top of the jar, and obviously drops down as the candles burn down. You can get different patterns of colour in this particular design, I have also seen it in light blues and purples, but I chose the yellow, red and green because it looks lovely and festive in my front room, plus they were the only ones available in the shop when I first bought them!

The candle holder looks beautiful when the candle is lit inside, especially when the candle has burnt down a bit. The flame from the candle can be seen through the glass squares, and dependent on which position you have it at, it glows brightly and looks so beautiful. I often position it so the flame is seen through the yellow square as this gives a brighter glow and in my opinion looks best, although the red is lovely for the evenings. It has a really homely and cosy look about it, especially when you have 2 of them lit at the same time, and the rest of your room is dark. Yes, these look lovely in the day time but you can't beat them in the night-time!

In terms of cleaning them, I've found it quite easy. I let the candle burn until it's almost finished and there is just a small bit of the candle wax at the bottom, let it harden and use a knife to scour around the edge and so far, every one has popped out perfectly. Inside is a bit waxy but that's because as it melts and hardens as you burn them, it sticks to the inside of the glass jar, but you can pop it in the freezer for a while to harden then scrape it out, but I haven't really needed to yet as they still look okay to me. Much of the wax inside tends to melt when the flame gets nearer to it anyway.

Overall, this is a great little votive jar, and looks particularly good at Christmas! It fits any Yankee Candle votive you wish to put inside, and as those candles burn for around 15 hours, you can frequently switch them around so you aren't stuck with any particular scent for too long. I think these looks great in my front room, especially in the evenings when they are lit near the Christmas tree. For just £3.50 each, I thought they are great value, and would certainly recommend them to anyone who uses a lot of Yankee votives.

Available in various Yankee Candle retailers for around £3.50 per jar. Suits all Yankee Candle votive candles.

        Thank you for reading.
