If you're like me and have pets you'll be well aware of that attempt at holding nose that guests do when they enter your house. Mmmm wet dog smell! For what seemed like forever I tried everything I could to get rid of the awful smell of not only wet dog but puppy wee, cat poo, dog sick etc. I tried conventional methods like leaving the windows open all day, fabreezing everything, shampooing carpets, cut lemons all over the place, air fresheners and even other 'cheaper' candles. Then I discovered the magic of a Yankee Candle. MY WORD I was not prepared for this sense explosion. From the lit the first candle I couldn't believe what I was ... Read the complete review

Okay, i'll fess up, i love Yankee candles, especially the foodie ones! My favourite (at the moment) is the Tea and Honey version, and smells, well, like Tea and Honey! This is what i love about Yankee products, the food and flower versions smell exactly how they're meant to, and they smell delicious. The ones that i would recommend you smell before ordering are the ones that tie in with lifestyles/feelings. They are a little more difficult to classify; after all, what would 'midsummers night' actually smell like? This would have different connotations to different people, and when i ordered this particular candle, i hated it. I guess that the wording, and the fantastic ... Read the complete review

Yankee Candles: On a recent trip to York, (truly the most terrifying experience of my life due to my agoraphobia and spaghetti junction - boy is that thing evil), I saw some Yankee candles on half price offer in a little gift shop. I thought "ooh I could get a few as Christmas/Birthday presents" but things didn't work out quite like that. I took one of the candles off the shelf to sniff at it and the lid, (which wasn't secured properly), fell off. The shop keeper was over in seconds and quickly found a broken jewellery stand and informed me that all breakages must be paid for before having a go at me and accusing me of picking up the candle by the ... I feel it's about time I confessed. They say it's the first step to getting help. Well, here goes. I am addicted to Yankee Candles. Yes, it's true, a full blown addiction. To satisfy this addiction, I purchased 1 large jar candle, 14 (yes, 14!!) voltive candles and 5 well, I'm not sure what they called, but you put them in an oil burner and have a tea light underneath and it melts the wax. Now for those of you in the know about Yankee Candles, you will be thinking, his spent a pretty penny there. Well, I was very lucky. The store I purchased them from was having a half price sale on the candles, as they are no longer selling them and I also work there, so got ... Read the complete review

I was introduced to Yankee Candles by my best mate who bought me a couple as a housewarming present along with a bottle of wine. I'm a big fan of candles, I have all different shapes and sizes in my house from decorative to ones I burn. My friend bought me two sampler sized candles that came in a small glass jar. The samplers are 1.75oz (49g) stand at about 2 inches and burn for 5 - 15 hours. The ones I have are lemon scented and as soon as they are lit you can smell lemons quite strongly but not overpowering. I've lit them a number of times now and there is still plenty of life left in them. I have since bought further Yankee Candles which I ... Read the complete review
