The first time I smelt a Yankee Candle burning I was blown away - Even in a large house the scent really travels, and gives your home a warm, inviting and invigorating experience. I just can't resist buying them because of the massive range of scents. New additions become available all the time.

Yankee Candles are more expensive than many other scented candles - The large "Housewarmer" jar candles cost £17.99, £14.99 for the medium - but these candles do burn for hours. The jars also mean that the candle can burn down evenly and there is no waste. Make sure you burn for a few hours each time you light the candle in order to prevent 'tunnelling' where wax stays unburned at the edge of the jar.

In the case of Yankee Candles you really do get what you pay for - The smells are vivid and sophisticated. The candles are made with fragrance extracts and essential oils, so there are no nasty synthetic odours. A Yankee Candle really outdoes any other room frangrance I have tried - although obviously you have to be careful with the flame.

The Jar Candles are really large, and last for ages - making them well worth the cost. If you don't fancy a big investment at first a sample candle - available in all the fragrances, gives you a taste, and a chance to sample more of the hundreds of amazing fragrances.

I often buy Yankee Candles for friends as gifts - I know that candles have become a bit of a cliched present over the past few years - but I find that friends will really been impressed by these, as they do offer something different.

The Christmas fragrance was a bit disappointing this year - My favourites are the clean laundry, baby powder, cucumber and Pommegranate - Yummy!

Yankee Candle also make other home fragrance products - like sprays and plug-in's. Because I love the candles so much I have never been tempted towards these - but they are probably a good alternative if you don't want the fire risk or danger of having candles burning.
