Advantages: Smells great, long lasting
Disadvantages: A little pricey
I was introduced to Yankee Candles by my best mate who bought me a couple as a housewarming present along with a bottle of wine. I'm a big fan of candles, I have all different shapes and sizes in my house from decorative to ones I burn.
My friend bought me two sampler sized candles that came in a small glass jar. The samplers are 1.75oz (49g) stand at about 2 inches and burn for 5 - 15 hours. The ones I have are lemon scented and as soon as they are lit you can smell lemons quite strongly but not overpowering. I've lit them a number of times now and there is still plenty of life left in them.
I have since bought further Yankee Candles which I bought online. I was amazed to see how many different kinds and scents they have. They have pillar candles, beanswax candles, multiwick, scented glass tumblers, scented votive jars, tealights, wax tarts, garden candles, tapered and aromatherapy candles.
I was surprised and impressed by the amount of different scents they have, there is so many it was really hard to choose. Some of the combinations seemed really bizarre, lemon and lavendar, almond cookie, country linen, mandarin and cranberry, farmers market, baby powder and many many more.
I decided to buy one of the scented glass tumblers but then there was another choice I had to make. The tumblers come in three different sizes:
Small 3.7oz, £6.74 - £7.49, Burn time 30 - 40 hours
Medium 14.05 oz, £13.49 - £14.99, Burn time 45 - 90 hours
Large 22oz, £16.19 - £17.99, Burn times 90 - 150 hours.
I chose the small as I cant really justify paying a fortune for one candle even though they are really nice. Then I had to chose which scent to buy? I chose lemon and lavendar as I was curious on what it would smell like. When the candle arrived it was in a strong glass tumbler with a lid like the picture above. When I took the lid off I could smell the lemon and he lavendar. And when lit it was really easy to smell each scent. Every now and then there was a whiff of lemon, then lavendar. The scents were mixed really well together.
If you are wanting to spend alot less then there is the samplers which are about £1.44. There is also the wax tarts which are 6.0cm in size, burn for 5-15 hours and are about 94p.
I bought my candles from an online shop www.scentedcandleshop.com. I really like the Yankee Candles and find the variety of scents and sizes great although sometimes it makes deciding which one to buy pretty difficult. Although they are quite expensive I do think they are good value for money, which ever shape or size you get they last a long time and the scents released from them are divine.
Anybody who is a fan of candles should definitely try these even if its just the one time. You can buy samplers to help decide whether you like certain scents so you wont waste money buying a larger candle that you end up not liking.
Summary: Candles that smell divine
