Advantages: Range the smell covers
Disadvantages: Doesn't last as long as the label stays, sometimes get a bit of wastage if the wick has burnt out
If you're like me and have pets you'll be well aware of that attempt at holding nose that guests do when they enter your house. Mmmm wet dog smell!
For what seemed like forever I tried everything I could to get rid of the awful smell of not only wet dog but puppy wee, cat poo, dog sick etc. I tried conventional methods like leaving the windows open all day, fabreezing everything, shampooing carpets, cut lemons all over the place, air fresheners and even other 'cheaper' candles. Then I discovered the magic of a Yankee Candle.
MY WORD I was not prepared for this sense explosion. From the lit the first candle I couldn't believe what I was smelling, this was heaven! From such a small jar the smell covers the whole room, 20 minutes burning time leaves a fragrance that lasts for hours, sometimes all day.
Yes they're not exactly cheap but I guarantee by spending a bit more on a yankee candle, which lasts for ages (although not quite as much as the label claims) you'll end up saving by buying cheaper candles that burn out after a few hours.
The range of smells is fantastic, my personal favourite is the housewarmer variety. Strawberry, Granny Smith Apples and Peach Melba take some beating but I've yet to get a Yankee I didn't love. Sometimes I just can't wait to get home, turn the lights off and light a candle.
Now the first thing my friends comment on when they come round is the lovely smell as opposed to hiding their nose inside their shirts.
Summary: Expensive but worth it
