I'm not really a candle kind of person, so it wasnt surprising that my mother in law decided to buy me one for Christmas. The candle in question was a Yankee Candle, Farmers Market Fruit Cocktail Large Jar 15.5 oz. Upon first appearances I thought I was actually unwrapping a jar of fruit so lifelike are the wax fruits suspended in a clear wax, ...  Read the complete review

Yankee tarts are gorgeous! They come in the complete range of smells and are retailing at around £1 each. They are used in the top of candle burners. Once the tea light below is lit they melt slowly releasing a gorgeous fragrance which I have found to be stronger than with traditional scented candles. In my experience one ...  Read the complete review

Express Review on Yankee Candle in General
by Janet - written on 26/12/08
Rating:

This year I went into Yankee Candle as I always do to get my candles a s a treat for the Holidays. As I opened jars and wiffed around I noticed the fragrances weren't as good as I remebered I smelled more wax and less fragrance. In some I could smell oils that I have smelled in lower end candles. Has anyone else noticed this too? For the first time in years I walked out of YC annoyed and empty handed.

This is a review about the tarts that yankee candles do. I think that the normal jar candles are quite expensive so these are a perfect alternative as they still smell just as nice as the big jars. They are also great for me as I get bored of having the same smell so I like to have lots of different scents of these tarts rather than just a ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Yankee Candle in General: Yankee candles are worth the fuss (188 words)

Yankee candles are by far the leading candles for the average consumer. Though these work out at a premium rate to the standard candle you can purchase from any store, including those such as Ikea and garden centres, I find the Yankee smells are in a leage of their own and they do infact last longer. I've currently got a few of the ...  Read the complete review

Yankee Candle It all started with a gift for Mom! Yankee Candles are a lovely scented candle company that first started in 1969. Their founder, Michael Kittredge, did not have much money and decided to make a gift for his mum for Christmas. He melted down some wax crayons and made a candle and after some interest from the locals the ...  Read the complete review

I got a set of these for a present and will review the specific ones I received rather than concentrating on the whole range and company, which is a bit much for one review! Firstly - the packaging. The ones I have come in small glass jars with rounded glass lids. This is quite good as it makes them very safe - slap the lid on and no ...  Read the complete review

I love candles but tend only to use them in the winter months as I love the flickering, calming effect and you get more benefit in the longer evenings. If any of you have read my reviews you will know I like a bargain but also love luxury items - I would say Yankee candles are a luxury because of the price but have found them cheaper....... I adore candles; my home is full of them in all shape, sizes and fragrances. Don't you just hate it when you get a lingering smell in your house that you just can't get rid of? Well I do, plus I really don't like the smell of a lot of artificial air fresheners, be it a spray format, in a bowl or one of those things you plug in. My favourite technique for air freshening would be the more old fashioned method of scented ...  Read the complete review

Founded in America since 1969 Yankee Candles have been one of the premium makers of candles - infact they seem to be the industry leader for scented candles. In 2004 I began working in a coffee shop which sold candles on the side. I fast became hooked on the scents of the ranges of "flavours" available and my love for incense sticks ...  Read the complete review

A while back, I called round to visit a friend, whose house I always like going to. Everything is always in its right place, she has jars of pasta in varying shapes and colours (the pasta, not the jars), shiny kitchen gadgets which serve little purpose whatsoever, fresh-cut flowers, and can normally produce on demand some kind of cake-based item ...  Read the complete review

This is an american range of scented candles. They have been available in the UK for the last couple of years and have raised the bar for other brands of scented candles. They are extortionately priced-a large jar with a lid will set you back around £14, and a medium jar around £7, but if you love the scents but can't afford them all ...  Read the complete review
