Yankee Candle Jack Frost
Advantages: A great scent, fresh yet warms the house, lovely design,
Disadvantages: Try before you buy
I have quite a few Yankee candles in my collection, in fact I have been a fan of the range for a few years now and have come to really enjoy spending time choosing what scent to have. One time of year that I love looking for Yankee candles is before Christmas when Yankee launches the Christmas range of scents. I often go for the fresh scents but I loved the Christmas Cookie, in fact I think it was burnt out before Christmas arrived1 One candle that has just reached the end though is my Yankee candle Jack Frost, I burned it on the run up to Christmas and then as I was lucky enough to receive some candles as presents it got put to one side, I have just finished using it up though and here are my thoughts.
Yankee candles are not the cheapest in the world and you can get them for a slightly cheaper price if you buy them on the internet however, I tend to use the Yankee dealer in my local town and for the house warmer middle sized jar that I have, you will pay about £15.00. You can also get the Jack Frost in a larger house warmer jar as well as the small version as well as the wax tarts.
The Jack Frost candle is in the clear glass jar, like most in the Yankee range and then there is a label printed around the bottom half of the candle. The front of the Jack Frost candle has a lovely Christmas scene on the front, there is 3 snowmen all dressed up in gloves and scarves with their hands waving at you! Very well thought out and really Christmassy! (I know we are in the middle of May but I am setting the scene!) Like most candles there is also a warning about the flame etc.
Before you light the candle, I must point out that if you can only have it on for a few minutes then it is not worth lighting as the scent won't have time to develop, you need the whole area of the top of the candle to turn to liquid and this is when the scent really starts to develop.
The Jack Frost scent is a mixture of ice cool peppermint and sweet vanilla, it is the mint that is the first thing that I noticed and it really did fill the room, it was not in any way overpowering and it was in fact really fresh. I placed the candle in y half way so it was really welcoming when we had people over at Christmas time and then more recently whilst I was using it up I have put the candle in the conservatory.
The scent as I mentioned is really fresh and inviting and after a while I started to notice the subtle scents of the vanilla coming through and the mixture with the mint was really nice. The scent also lingers, even after you have blown the candle out which is often the case with the Yankee products, they really are of a fantastic quality.
In summary, I have no hesitation in recommending this product, it is really warming yet refreshing at the same time, I appreciate that Yankee products are a little expensive but they are also great to make the house feel all scented and lovely.
5 out of 5 from me
Thank you for reading.
