Advantages: Calming, nice scent

Disadvantages: Quite subtle

All of these Yankee reviews really aren't helping my bank balance. The other day I decided I must buy the Fluffy Towels fragrance from an ebay seller so in order to save on postage costs (it would be rude not to) I found myself ending up with 4 different fragrances to try despite having about 7 part burned tarts and 3 or 4 still in their wrappers...One that I decided I must try was the Midnight Jasmine scent.

The wax tarts from Yankee are designed to be burned in a tart burner therefore meaning they have no wick. The wax tarts retail between £1 and £1.20 usually and you can pick up a burner for a bargain £5. However if you don't think the tarts are your thing you can also buy the Yankee range in other formats including tealights, samplers, housewarmer jars, tumblers and even reed diffusers.

Midnight Jasmine is a white tart with a gorgeous picture on the front of the wrapper showing a dark sky surrounding jasmine flowers. It looks attractive and contemporary.

To burn the tart you simply pop it in the top of your burner, place a lit tealight underneath and within 10 minutes or so your fragrance will be released into your room.

As the tart was first beginning to release its fragrance I was a bit skeptical as it seemed to have quite a soapy kind of smell. However, as I got a bit more used to the smell and it began to release its full scent I found that the aroma was much more enjoyable. The scent reminds me of having a hot bubble bath as it does have a fresh, clean and relaxing aroma. It is a floral scent and this isn't overpowering, instead it is one of the more subtle scents. Its a very fresh and new kind of smell and it reminds me of a cold spring morning with the dew on the ground.

The tart gives a scent which helps to fragrance my home and after using it my home has a fresh and clean smell with a slight floral hint.  This is quite a subtle aroma and is certainly not intense. The fragrance does hang around for a few hours after extinguishing the tealight but its not one that you will be able to smell the next morning.

As always, this wax tart promises a burn time of 8 hours. I always find they last longer than this, sometimes up to 12 hours but after 8 hours the fragrance begins to fade.

I like this fragrance but I think it is more of a spring or summer fragrance than an autumn or winter one simply because it is such a light and floral fragrance. However, it does scent my home nicely and I am enjoying the fragrance it delivers. I have found that the aroma creates a very calming atmosphere and helps me to regain some calm and begin to unwind. I will finish off my tart within the next week or so definitely but I probably won't buy another straight away simply because I would like to try all of the more cosy, wintery or christmas fragrances that are all appearing on the market now. However, I am sure that Midnight Jasmine will feature in my burner again in the new year!

Summary: Lovely tart
