Yankee's Pink Dragon Fruit wax tart was one of a few wax tarts my daughter bought me for my birthday a few weeks back. It wasn't a Yankee fragrance I had noticed in the shops in town where I have purchased many of my Yankee wax tarts from, but I could recall reading reviews about it and was aware it was one of Yankee's newer fragrances released earlier this year. Despite me not being able to find it in town, my daughter however, found it in a branch of Collectables and it is also readily available to purchase online from Yankee stockists.

Pink Dragon Fruit is, as its name suggests, a fruity fragrance. And despite it being pink, which is a colour I tend to avoid, its strong fruity scent was evident before I had even removed it from its packaging.
I love fruity fragrances particularly when it comes to scented candles or air fresheners and this one smelled so strongly before I used it, I was confident this would give great longevity, as all the stronger scented candles in the range tend to do.
Yankee describe Pink Dragon Fruit as a colourful and intriguing fragrance and inform you that there's a lure of adventure in the sweet aroma of this tropical fruit that brings out your seductive summer feelings.
It is indeed very sweet and fruity and after placing it in the well of my burner and lighting a tealight to place underneath, it was actually less than a minute before the fruity scent from the melting wax began to fill the room. The fragrance quickly wafted out into the hallway and up the stairs. I could smell this gorgeous fragrance all over the house.

When burning Yankee wax tarts I have found the longevity of the scent released varies from fragrance to fragrance. Yankee state you can expect up to 8 hours of scent from a wax tart, but I have found that more often than not I get more than the stated 8 hours, but on rare occasions it has been disappointingly less. Not to worry here though as Pink Dragon Fruit easily exceeded the 8 hours and I found I got a decent 12 hours worth of fragrance with this one, which is very impressive.
It reminded me of another fruity Yankee fragrance, 'Sweet Strawberry' which also is a very sweet, strong scent and is one of my favourites. Hence to say, that Pink Dragon Fruit has quickly became a favourite of mine too.

When melting my wax tart, I would light a tealight under the well of the burner on an evening and allow it to burn out, which took around three hours. The fruity scent filled my home and I also found the fragrance hung in the air for hours after the tealight had burned out. I could still smell the fragrance when I came down the stairs the next morning.
By melting the wax for three hours each evening I found that my tart lasted four evenings before the fragrance began to weaken and even then I managed to eke out a little more fragrance before it finally disappeared.

As an alternative to burning these wax tarts you can also use them to fragrance drawers or cupboards, as even in their wrapping they smell quite strong and this is something I love to do until I am ready to burn them. Yankee also suggest you create you own unique fragrance by combining them, but this is something I have not yet got round to doing.
Buying a wax tart or a votive sampler candle is an ideal way to sample the various Yankee fragrances before buying the more expensive, longer-lasting wax filled jars. The usual price of a wax tart is around 99p - £1.25 and they are available from various online outlets such as Amazon, as well as Yankee retail outlets, as well as branches of Clinton Cards, Collectables, Debenhams and other card and gift retailers. Look out for sales as it is possible to snap up a few bargains for as little as 50p.

Overall, Pink Dragon Fruit is definitely one of the best value for money wax tarts I have sampled to date. The strength and longevity of the fragrance is excellent and it is now one of my favourites. If you like Yankee's Sweet Strawberry then I recommend you give Pink Dragon Fruit a try.
