Yankee Candle Pink Dragon Fruit
Advantages: an exotic flavour
Disadvantages: Slow off the start - hence the 1 star off
=Yankee Candle Pink Dragon Fruit=
I treated myself to a set of 10 tarts from Amazon, and I choose 5 and my daughter choose the other 5, this is one of my choices, as I love the fruit based candles.
Yankee products are a fixture on the shelf in many retailers, both in store and online, generally a single tart retails at around £1.25.
One of the first things that attracted me to this tart was not just the name, "Pink Dragon" but the shade of pink as is a lovely shade of pink.
The tart comes wrapped in a shrink wrap and has the sticker on the front which tells us it is a Yankee candle, and the fragrance, as well as a picture of the exotic fruit, and on the rear sticker is the care instructions, how to use and the contact details for Yankee.
I always break my tarts in half, so I get double the value and double the fragrance. Once I have lit the tea light, the wax starts to melt and within about 5 minutes, I can smell the aroma of the fruit, I wasn't sure what to expect as this was the first time trying this one.
Yankee describe the scent as being colourful, adventurous, intriguing and tropical.
=My Thoughts on the aroma=
I could identity with some of this descriptions, it was defiantly a colourful tart, the fragrance was slightly sweet, defiantly fruity and had a aroma of the exotic. I found the smell to be uplifting, slightly sweet, but not as sweet as I expected, but it did have a floral undertone, not enough to pick on heavily, I would say as a background element to it.
I would say this is defiantly a summer fragrance, this is due to the fruit the floral undertones and the uplifting element of the candle.
A tart has an average of 8 hours, but with this one I found the fragrance lasted about 10 hours, I have mine burning for a couple of hours on an evening, then the aroma is still there for another couple of hours, not as strong as when it is burning, but a nice smell
Although I liked the candle, I don't know if my expectations were to high with the pretty colour, and the exotic name, but I found that when burning yes it was nice, and I would buy it again, but it was a bit of a let down to the build up, so based on that I have knocked 1 star off this.
Wax Tarts - 22grams burn time of 8 hours around £1 to £1.50
Sampler Candle - 32 grams - burn time 12/15 hours £1.30 to £2.00
Small Glass Jar, - 3.7oz (140 grams) - burn time of 25/40 hours around £10
Medium Glass Jar - 14.5oz (411 grams) burn time of 65/90 hours around £15
