~ Yankee Candle - Pink Sands ~
Having purchased this fragrance over a month ago now I can honestly say that it is my utter most favourite fragrance ever!
I started off with the Yankee Candle tarts in this scent which were set as Fragrance of the Month in Clintons and this is how I came to buy it. At just 90p a tart I couldn't refuse and I bought two of these along with another two of different fragrances which I haven't got around to using yet.
A Yankee Candle tart is simply a tart shaped piece of fragranced wax, they are about the same size as a Jaffa cake although a bit thicker. They come wrapped in a stiff plastic wrapper which has a sticker on the top. This is quite easy to get into, I simply pierce it with the sharp point of a knife then it tears open very easily, once the wrapper is off you will see Yankee Candle Co stamped into the top of the tart.
The tarts will burn and give off scent for approximately 8 hours.
Today I went into Clintons to buy a few more of these tarts however they had sold out so I just simply had to make do with a medium sized jar instead! ;) (Not that I am complaining!!)
The jars are very traditional looking, they are of course glass and have a nice jar shape to them (if you know what I mean??), they have a heavy glass lid which fits the jar perfectly and this bears the Yankee Candle logo on the top. The jars are quite heavy as you may imagine with them being filled with wax, but they are also very pretty.
The Pink Sands jar is filled with a gorgeous pink wax and it looks very pretty.
On the front of the jar is a label detailing the brand, the fragrance and also a lovely picture, this one being of a blue water with a pink coloured sand in the middle.
There is a sticker underneath telling me what not to do and what to do and also that this should burn for 65 - 90 hours, which I think is more than a reasonable amount of time.
I have to admit I don't really get the name ' Pink Sands ' as it's not a scent I would associate with sand/beaches but it is a beautiful, gorgeous scent all the same.
So looking online I have found this ~
About the fragrance.
It's an exotic island escape in the beautiful mix of bright citrus, sweet florals and spicy vanilla.
When I first smelt this candle my immediate reaction was ' Watermelon and sweets ' I don't really know how to descibe it other than gorgeous. It's lovely and sweet and also rather exotic, now I am not usually one for anything that mentions vanilla as I don't like vanilla scents but I have to say that whilst I can't actually detect any hint of vanilla it has a smooth fragrance that I put down to the spicy vanilla being in there. It definately a more fruity scent rather than floral.
I adore this scent (if you haven't already guessed). It's not as strong as some of the others I have tried and whilst this will fill the room with the lovely scent I do also burn it in the bathroom in an oil burner so that the scent travels around the house nicely.
The scent of this is very clean and fresh and whenever I am burning this people always ask what the fab smell is. I had a rather lengthly discussion with my window cleaner just last week about it! And my Avon lady loves it!
It's a nice, gentle scent which whilst being mellow fills my house quite quickly.
Having now burnt both tarts and a candle I have to say that the tarts will allow the scent to be noticed more quickly but when the candle gets going it smells just as good.
With these you don't get any chemical like scent that I find sometimes with can airfresheners, it's just a beautiful natural scent.
The blend of scents in this particular fragrance work extremely well together.
