Yankee Candle Red Berry & Cedar
Advantages: Smells fresh and warming, gives a relaxing feel to a room, strong but not overpowering
Disadvantages: I wish the cedar scent was a little stronger
With Christmas now behind us but yet the winter like evenings still here, it is nice that I still have my Yankee Red Berry and Cedar candle to remind me of my lovely Christmas! I am prone now to coming in from work of an evening, pulling the curtains to putting the TV on and lighting my candle, it makes for a relaxing evening with a lovely scent in the background! I got the wax tart in this range first and quite liked it so decided to buy the scented jar and this was a lovely scent that is still going strong now and so here are my thoughts.
Yankee products now come in a range of different sizes and varieties. The wax tarts are priced at just over £1.00 and give you an idea of a scent without having to spend too much, the scented jar that I then went onto buy was more expensive, I think I paid about £14.99 for the scented jar and this was from a local independent retailer, although the products can be found in a number of different places nowadays and are much easier to purchase.
The scented jar is made from clear glass and has the Yankee logo on the front as well as on the lid of the jar. There is a label wrapped around the centre of the jar and this has the name of the scent on as well as picture of a some red berries, this is certainly a Christmas looking one but it does not look out of place in January either!
The colour of the wax is quite a bright red colour and again looks really festive. There are a few instructions to go with the product as well as a little bit of information from Yankee. This scent is described as a 'delicious holiday aroma of tart red currants and warm cedarwood.' I think this is evident as soon as you remove the lid and so I placed this candle on a solid flat surface and began to burn.
I soon noticed the scent of the red berries coming through, in fact this was almost instant, it was not until I walked out and then back into the room that the candle was in that I noticed the scent of the cedarwood. The candle is quite a powerful one, not a soft scent that I have used in the past but I liked having the idea of a stronger more Christmas scent over the holiday period. The scent did seem to get a little less strong each time that I burned this candle but that may have been that I was simply getting used to the fragrance.
I think this particular candle has quite relaxing qualities about it and with over 8 hours of burning time that is certainly a lot of time to relax over. This scent did not fill the entire house like a couple of my previous stronger scents by Yankee have but it was noticeable on the downstairs of my house.
In summary, I have no hesitation in recommending this fragrance, even with Xmas now gone you can still purchase the candle.
4 out of 5 from me
Thank you for reading
