Advantages: sweet, creamy lemon scent, lasts well
Disadvantages: none at all for me
Back in late 2012 one of my lovely friends sent me a surprise parcel with a few wax tarts in and one of the ones that she sent me was the Sicilian lemon fragrance. This is my review of my experience with the wax tart.
I think it is fair to say that my favourite scents which come from the Yankee Candle range are generally the fruity scented ones and whilst I have liked most of the fragrances that I have tried it is always the fruity ones that I will go back to as I think they remind me of warm summer months and are quite uplifting no matter what time of year you burn them. One of my favourite scents is the sparkling lemon fragrance and so when I received the Sicilian wax tart from my friend I felt sure I would like it.
The wax tart comes wrapped as all of the other ones do in a tight clear plastic packaging through which you can see the pale yellow colour of the tart. The label features the Yankee candle name as well as the fragrance name and a picture of some lemons as well so that you can easily distinguish what it is going to smell of should you be buying the product in a shop or online for example!
I find it is best to remove the packaging with scissors and then place the tart straight in to the bowl of my tart burner because I often find stray bits of wax come off when I remove the packaging from any tart and then they land all over my kitchen work top which I find frustrating! I lit the tea light under the bowl of the tart burner and went off to do a few chores which is what I always tend to do when burning a tart as I like to come back to the room when it has had chance to melt somewhat and release the fragrance.
I left the tart burning for around half an hour before I returned to the room and as hoped it had filled my living room with the most gorgeous sweet scent. I think that whilst the sparkling lemon is quite sharp and tangy this Sicilian lemon is very sweet and reminded me very much of lemon meringue pie! The sweetness combined with the lemon really was a gorgeous scent and one which I think smelled really welcoming as well.
I burned this tart a few times for around four hours each time and found that the fragrance was still apparent towards the end of the final time I burned it but just that it wasn't as strong. A wax tart is apparently designed to give up to eight hours fragrance and so I felt this one was good value really as it released fragrance for a good bit longer. A wax tart generally costs around £0.90 to £1.20 depending on where you buy it from and I have to say that in this case it is well worth the money. I would like to buy this one in other formats as I enjoyed it so much and would totally recommend you check it out especially if you enjoy sweet, fruity scents.
Thank you for reading my review!
Summary: A gorgeous scent!
