After being very disappointed with the throw of Merry Marshmallow and North Pole, I was pleasantly surprised by Snowflake Cookie. It is a subtle yet still noticeable sugar cookie scent. The throw was medium, it filled my living room with scent but not really the adjoining rooms. I would have given 5 stars if the throw was stronger. The wax color is exceptionally pretty looking! If YC brings it back next year I would probably buy it in jars also. It reminded me a bit of a more subtle sugary and un-spiced version of Milk & Cookies. I shut off the tart burner before I went to bed. I was surprised when I went to the living room in the morning as I could still faintly detect a sweet sugary scent lingering. It blends well with other scents (I also had it burning with Midnight Oasis). I'm glad YC redeemed themselves with the new Christmas collection with this one! I am not usually someone who goes for things like yankee candles as they do cost a pretty penny but i thought i would treat myself and right i was as this was such a pleasant surprise and worth every penny even though this one from the cheaper ranges retailling at £1.12. If you are looking for a gift for a friend or family member look no further as this is p e r f e c t! Seriously reccomend this wax tart to anyone looking for something a little bit different. xoxo
I received this Yankee Candle for Christmas from my auntie.
I am reviewing the small jar version of this candle rather than the wax tart version.
~ Appearance ~
The jar is wide and about 3 inches tall. It is made from glass and has a chunky glass lid with 'Yankee Candle' embossed onto the top of it.
There is a clear sticker on the front of the jar, which gives you the name of the Yankee Candle, Snowflake Cookie and there is a picture of some pink and white snowflake shaped iced biscuits on the front.
The label also tells me that this has a net weight of 104g.
The wax tart version is just a tart shaped pink piece of wax, which is meant to be put into a tart burner with a tea light underneath and the aroma is released that way.
~ Price ~
A small jar costs £8.39 from www.yankeecandle.co.uk.
It is also available as a votive for £1.35, but they don't have any larger jars or a wax tart version of this scent on their website.
The wax tart is normally available for around £1.10.
~ In use ~
The glass lid has rubber around the rim so when I first tried to open it I thought you had to twist the lid off, but you just have to pull it. It is on quite firmly, but it doesn't require too much effort to remove the lid.
The wax is a light pink colour and it has a lovely sweet, sugary scent, which reminds me of when I have been baking. It is a lovely cosy, homely scent.
The smaller jars are supposed to have 25 - 40 hours burn time. I have burned this for a few hours since I got it and it still looks full.
The wick is quite long and easy to light with a match or I tend to turn it upside down to light if I am using a lighter. My other half tried to light this by tipping it on its side and the glass on the side of the jar went black from the flame, but this is easy to clean off and it looks as good as new again now.
Once the candle is lit the room is filled with the scent very quickly and it lingers for a while after it has been extinguished as well.
I usually wait a while before replacing the lid as if you put it on straight after the flame has been extinguished the inside of the lid can become blackened, which is a bit more awkward to clean.
I really like the scent of this. It isn't too harsh or overpowering. It is completely inoffensive and the scent is really sweet and uplifting.
I really like this candle, but if I was to buy a new Yankee Candle I would prefer to try something different that I hadn't tried before so I don't think I would buy this again.
'A new Christmas tradition that is sure to charm : perfectly pretty holiday cookies, deliciously decorated with sugary pink icing'
Snowflake Cookie is part of the Christmas 2013 range of Yankee Candles. I will be discussing my opinion on the wax tart but this fragrance can also be experienced in other formats including tealights and housewarmer jars. The wax tart is a disc of solid, scented wax. This particular wax tart is pink in colour and the clear wrapper has a sticker on the front illustrating some delicious looking cookies.
For those who aren't familiar with how to use wax tarts, you unwrap one and pop it in a tart burner with a tealight underneath. The wax melts and the scent is released around your home. Wax tarts can be used until all the fragrance has disappeared but Yankee state that each tart should give you at least 8 hours of fragrance.
*~Price and Availability~*
Snowflake Cookie wax tart is available from your local Yankee Candle supplier or from websites including Amazon and www.yankeecandle.co.uk. The average price for a wax tart is £1.25.
When I made an online purchase of the new Christmas wax tarts, I was particularly excited about trying Snowflake Cookie as it sounded right up my street. When my tarts arrived, I gave this tart a sniff through the wrapper and was able to detect a faint, sugary sweetness. When I got around to actually using it, I opted to place the whole tart in my tart burner and set about lighting the little tealight underneath. I was in for a treat!
Whilst not the most powerful of scents, the scent of Snowflake Cookie began to filter around my livingroom and out in to my kitchen and hallway at a quick pace. The main aroma was, as you would expect, lingering in my livingroom but the sweetness travelled well to the other areas of our flat and I was pleased with how welcoming and lightly scented my home appeared with 30 minutes of the tealight being lit. The pool of transparent, baby pink liquid in my tart bowl was filling my home with the most delicious aroma.
Snowflake Cookie is the perfect sweet scent which isn't just suitable for experiencing during the festive season in my opinion. The scent is beautifully layered and flows smoothly. It is sweet but I didn't find it to be sickly sweet or too heady but if you are melting it in a small, enclosed area then it may come across as being a little heavy. Our flat is quite big so the scent filtered well and I noticed that any cooking aromas were eliminated effortlessly.
I personally adore sweet scents and feel that Yankee Candle have done well with Snowflake Cookie. It is suitable for being melted at any time of the day or night but I enjoyed melting it in the evening as I could sit and relax and therefore enjoy the scent all the bit more. Guests are likely to be impressed by the welcoming ambience in your home as I have experienced. The main focus is on a rich, buttery sweetness which does give off a home baking aroma. I love baking and the aroma it offers my home but I don't always have time to bake so burning sweet, baking candles is something that I regularly do. The cookie aroma is laced with a sugary sweetness which is that of vanilla icing and sugary strands - perfectly delightful and food-y.
I absolutely love the way Snowflake Cookie delivers a tempting, sweet aroma and have been highly impressed by all aspects of this wax tart. The scent lingers in the air and I am able to witness the delights of both the baking cookie and the finished cookie topped with creamy, sweet icing due to the way the scent develops over the course of a few hours. My wax tart offered around 12 hours of gorgeous scent before it weakened and I have since purchased a few more as this scent has made such a positive impression on me.
I highly recommend Snowflake Cookie in wax tart format if you adore sweet scents.
