Advantages: Lovely strong fruity and fizzy lemon fragrance.

Disadvantages: Can't smell lime or orange notes.

This Yankee Sparkling Lemon wax tart was one of several wax tarts I received from my daughter as a Christmas gift. She had bought me several wax tarts on various visits to town and bought a pretty box to store them in and presented me with it on Christmas Day. Inside were a few of my favourites which she knew I would like and a few I had yet to try, this Sparkling Lemon being one of them.

Yankee describe their Sparkling Lemon fragrance as 'Effervescent sweet Meyer Lemon with notes of energetic citrus lime and bergamot orange.' This is definitely one for fans of fruity fragrance with the lemon notes being the most predominant, which is what you would expect when you look at this wax tart with its lemon yellow wax and picture of fresh lemons on the label.
As I held the wax tart to my nose, I was immediately reminded of fizzy Sherbert Lemon sweets and thought it quite similar to another Yankee fragrance: Lemon Lavender, which I have tried before and liked very much. And so I knew right away I would enjoy this one.

I am also a fan of anything lime fragranced, but although this fragrance is said to include both lime and orange notes, I personally could not detect these. Indeed the lemon fragrance is all I could smell, both when the wax tart was in its packaging and when it was in use, melting in my burner. If this does include lime and orange notes, then they must be so subtle it is difficult to detect them. I wasn't disappointed by this however, as I really liked the fizzy lemon scent, but if you bought this wanting to be able to detect the lime and orange mixed with the lemon, then you could be disappointed.

You can expect to achieve around 8 hours of fragrance from burning a wax tart and I find this varies from fragrance to fragrance. Whilst most will give you the 8 hours, I have found some have given me more and on a couple of occasions I have experienced some poor fragrances which have disappointed me and have fallen way short of providing 8 hours of fragrance. Thankfully this has been rare and I have mostly found these Yankee wax tarts to be a quality product.

When placing this Sparkling Lemon wax tart into my burner and lighting a tealight underneath it was only around two minutes before I began to smell the lemon fragrance filling the air. It was initially very strong, which I didn't mind and I could smell the fragrance around my home. After extinguishing the tealight the lemon scent hung in the air for some time after, which I was pleased about.
Usually when burning wax tarts I find the fragrance begins to fade gradually after the initial few hours, however with this one, it just seemed to disappear. One minute the lemon fragrance was there and then suddenly I couldn't smell it anymore, which I found surprising as I have not came across this before and usually eke out as much fragrance as I can before replacing the wax tart.
Again this is not something to complain about in my opinion, as I had achieved slightly over 8 hours of fragrance from my wax tart, it was just surprising to discover the scent had suddenly vanished.

Overall, I am happy to recommend Sparkling Lemon and it is one I shall buy again. I enjoy fruity fragrances and if you have tried the Lemon Lavender fragrance and enjoyed it then you will like this one.
It is available in wax tart, votive, tealight and glass jar format from Yankee Stockists. This one was a gift so I am not sure of where it was bought or the price paid, but you can expect to pay around £1.20 for wax tarts from branches of Clintons and Collectables and prices start from around 99p online from www.yankee.co.uk and Amazon.

Summary: A fruity tart which I shall buy again.
