Advantages: fruity, refreshing fragrance
Disadvantages: none for me
For my birthday this year my friend bought me a basket which was full of all kinds of wonderfully smelling treats for bath time and afterwards but also some Yankee candle wax tarts to burn in my tart burner. Many of the tarts she had bought for me I hadn't tried before and one of the ones in the basket was sparkling lemonade which I shall review today.
Yankee candles offer a range of products such as large, medium and small jars, tumblers, tea lights and sampler candles but they also offer wax tarts which are my most common purchase because they have a low cost and enable me to sample lots of different fragrances relatively inexpensively.
A wax tart is basically a tart shaped wickless piece of wax which is designed to be melted over the heat of a tea light candle in a tart burner and it will then release the fragrance in to the air as it melts much like a larger fragranced candle would do. A wax tart will set you back around £1 to £1.20 depending on where you purchase it from and they are available from many online retailers as well as some card and gift shops too.
The sparkling lemon wax tart is as you would expect a lemon yellow in colour. It is wrapped in a plastic which is best removed over the sink I find or bits of wax seem to drop off and go all over my work top and make a mess! The packaging is tricky to remove so I find snipping it with scissors or a knife just makes it easier to do. The tart features a label on top with the Yankee candle name, the product name and a picture of a glass of what I presume to be lemonade with a slice of fresh lemon in it and so I immediately presume this is going to be a rather refreshing scent.
When I take a wax tart out of the packaging I always make sure I have a sniff of it to see what the pre melted scent is like so I can compare it to the melted one! On this occasion the tart smells lovely and fruity yet it has quite a creamy undertone to it as well a little bit like lemon meringue pie! It does smell really refreshing too and so I hoped that it would emulate the country lemonade tart which I had previously tried and really enjoyed.
When placed in the tart burner the tart began to melt after a few minutes but I always like to leave the room and get on with a few things and then return when the scent is in full flow. I have to say with this one I really wasn't disappointed as the sweet lemon scent really did fill the room and it just was so refreshing. I would go as far as to say that it actually cleared my mind some what as it was just really refreshing. I burned this tart during a warm summer's day and I think it is a perfect spring or summer fragrance as it is so fruity. I personally prefer warmer, more comforting scents in the colder months but I will certainly be trying this one again when the weather is warmer.
I would recommend this tart if you are looking for a fruity, crisp and refreshing fragrance to fill your home. A tart gives around eight hours fragrance and so it is a perfect size and price to be able to try it out without much financial loss should you not like it and so I would encourage you to try this one!
Thank you for reading my review!
Summary: Perfect for a warm day!
