Yankee Candle Sparkling Snow
Advantages: Great longevity, lovely fragrance
My daughter knows how much I love scented candles and often buys me a Yankee wax tart when she is out shopping in town, so I was delighted when she bought me a Yankee 'Sparkling Snow' wax tart recently.
She had spent some time smelling the different scents from the huge range available in a branch of Collectables and thought that 'Sparkling Snow' would be one I would like based upon the type of fragrance she knows I like.
Sparkling Snow is an attractively packaged wax tart, as the pure white wax compliments the festive green background on the label adorned with pretty snowflakes. Just looking at the packaging put me in mind of a forest pine fragrance and I wasn't wrong, as I held the wax tart to my nose I could detect a pine fragrance blended with a woody fragrance which I thought held a slight scent of patchouli too. I liked the scent instantly and having found many 'pine' fragrances smell like toilet cleaner, I am happy to report this is certainly not the case here!
Yankee state this particular fragrance captures the crisp naturally fresh scent of gleaming, snow-covered pines and indeed this is one of the occasions where I can say that they have named one of their candles appropriately and the name actually matches the fragrance.
I placed the tart into my burner and lit a tealight underneath. As soon as the wax began to melt the aroma from the wax began to fill the room with its woody fragrance. I loved how the pine fragrance isn't overpowering but is still detectable in a subtle way.
I could smell the scent from my wax tart in my downstairs rooms and it even wafted up the stairs a little too and I am pleased to report the fragrance hangs in the air for a long time after you extinguish the tealight or when it has burned out.
In terms of longevity I found the fragrance released from this wax tart exceeded the eight hours suggested by Yankee and I found I achieved around ten hours of fragrance from this wax tart before the fragrance began to fade, which is a bonus.
By buying these wax tarts or even the tealights or votives, it is a cheap way to sample the many fragrances Yankee offer. The fragrances are also available as a glass jar candle and these are considerably more expensive to buy, so I personally find buying these wax tarts which are priced between 99p - £1.20 each is an ideal way to find out if you like the fragrance before spending more on a glass jar candle.
I also find that these wax tarts make ideal drawer scenters too. If you leave them in their packaging and place them in a drawer they will provide long-lasting fragrance.
Overall, 'Sparkling Snow' is one I am happy to recommend and I shall certainly be wanting another one of these wax tarts as this fragrance is up there with my other favourite fragrances from Yankee, such as Soft Blanket and Evening Air. It is an ideal fragrance to burn over the festive period and dark winter nights.
Yankee wax tarts and other candles are available to buy at branches of Clinton cards, Debenhams and Collectables as well as other card and gift shops and can also be found online at many retailers including Amazon and YankeeDoodle.co.uk
Summary: One of my favourite Yankee fragrances.
