Yankee Candle Strawberry Buttercream
Advantages: quality, smell, price, true to life, design
Yankee Candle is an American company who offer a wide range of scented candle and other home fragrance goodies.
The Strawberry Buttercream scent is infused into various sized candles, tealights and samplers. The cheapest way to experience this scent, is in wax tart form. A wax tart is a small piece of wax which has been infused with at least 8 hours of delightful, essential oil scent. By placing the tart (full or part of it) in an oil burner with a tealight underneath, the tart will melt and release the scent into the air.
Strawberry Buttercream is described as being "an absolutely luscious treat of plump, sweet strawberries buried in rich whipped cream". The tart is white in colour and comes shrink wrapped for freshness. The small label adorning the front of the tart, shows a delicious looking bowl with the strawberries and cream piled high.
Strawberry Buttercream wax tart can be picked up from £1.00 - £1.20. It is readily available online through stores such as Amazon and www.yankeedoodle.co.uk. As it is an all year round scent, it could be picked up in local stores stocking Yankee merchandise.
My desire to sample every scent that Yankee Candle has to offer, has taken over. As a treat recently, my sister offered to buy me 5 new tarts for my Yankee Candle burner. One of the tarts I chose was Strawberry Buttercream. The scent name appealed to me as I love desserts and especially love strawberry scented goodies. I believe she paid £1.10 for my tart which for 8 hours of scent, is a decent price to pay.
Whilst it is perfectly acceptable to place a small piece of wax tart into a burner, with this one, I chose to throw the full tart in. On unwrapping, the immediate scent wasn't as strong as many of the Yankee scents but offers a soft, comforting sweetness. I burned this one for a few hours each day and found it to be somewhat of a treat for my nose and my living room. The tart takes no more than 30mins to fully melt into a cloudy, white pool of wax and once the tealight has gone out, it starts to solidify for easy removal from my burner.

The subtle aroma from this tart on opening had me worried this would be quite a quiet scent and one which wouldn't fill my home with a gorgeous aroma. I was proven wrong as the most favourable scent began to fill my living room and gradually made its way out into my hall way as well. Strawberry Buttercream is one of the most true to life scents I have experienced in the Yankee range. It is very natural and offers a mouthwatering appeal like a freshly prepared, chilled dessert.
The sumptuously sweet aroma from this tart is very evident from the moment the wax begins to melt. Its the sort of scent that wouldn't be out of place in any room of the home as it is very versatile. Strawberry Buttercream offers a stunning, distinctive aroma which is extremely comforting and full bodied. It lingers in the air and other "home aromas" cannot compete with its strength.
From a distance, Strawberry Buttercream oozes a lip licking sweetness. It makes me think of a freshly made pastry cake filled with light, sweet whipped cream. There is nothing synthetic about this cream..it is perfect. The strawberry scent isn't immediately noticeable but I do feel it adds a light, airy sweetness to the cream scent. At times during burning this tart, I could pick up a tasty scent which resembled the thick, sugary buttercream icing that Asda put on their cupcakes..yummy! Despite being creamy, the scent is pleasantly light whilst still providing enough sweetness to fill my living room.
Strawberry Buttercream is a very tempting scent and as it lingers gracefully, I am often tempted to have a closer sniff. As I approach my burner, the strawberry scent comes alive and adds a fresh, succulent fruitiness to the scent. It also offers a juicy undertone and I feel the essence of the strawberry has been captured in its fully natural state. Burning for a few hours at night before blowing the tealight out, a delicate sweetness hung in the air. With each burning, no scent was lost and I did get around 10hours of consistent, sweet scent from this little tart.
Strawberry Buttercream is a beautifully scented wax tart which fufills its intended scent perfectly. It could be burned any time during the day or in the evening. This high quality tart is full to the brim with natural scent and is by far, one of the nicest Yankee scents. Some may prefer a more noticeable appearance from the strawberry, but I feel the right level of each scent has been used. Bearing this in mind, Strawberry Buttercream wax tart comes with my full recommendation.
