I love Yankee Candles, and I can't resist buying loads of them - they're an addictive little habit! If you've not come across them before, they are a range of high quality candles, which come in a huge array of scents, some of which are absolutely out of this world! It's very rare that I will find a Yankee Candle with a scent that I don't absolutely love, they're all so yummy, and the scents are very accurate and true to life - not as synthetic smelling as some of the cheaper ones!

One of my favourite Yankee Candles for this time of year is Sun & Sand, a fragrance which is available in the form of a house warmer jar, tumbler, tea lights, pot pourri, reed diffuser and car jar. Not all of the scents come in so many different forms, and the fact that this one does, shows how popular it must be.

I have the house warmer jar, and I think the house warmers are probably the most recognisable form that Yankee Candles come in, as well as being the most widely available. House warmers are basically just a glass jar with removable lid which contain the candle. They have a sort of old fashioned, slightly rustic look to them, and although I do really quite like the jars, I must admit in all honesty, they don't really match the interior of my flat too well as it's quite modern.

The reason I love Sun & Sand, is that the fragrance immediately takes me (in my mind anyway!) to the beach in the summer. You wouldn't think it was possible to capture the scent of sun and sand, however somehow Yankee Candle have managed it! According to the website this candle contains a blend of sweet orange flower, 'lemony citrus', fresh lavender and powdery musk. Personally I cannot really pick out any of those scents individually in the candle - to me it just smells like the beach! In fact with its sandy yellow colour, it even looks a bit like the beach!

It really is a wonderful fragrance and captures the scent of summer perfectly, with its very fresh, yet slightly warm fragrance, and captures perfectly the scent of a summers day. Yankee Candles have longer burn times than other candles on the market, and the fragrance of this really fills the room, even when it has only been burning for a short while.

The house warmer jars come in three different sizes, each varying in price and burn time...
Small 3.7oz jar - £7.49 - burn time 24-40 hours
Medium 14.5oz jar -£14.99 - burn time 60-90 hours
Large 22oz jar- £17.99 - burn time 110-150 hours

As you can see these are quite expensive for candles, but for me I see them as a treat and only purchase one every now and then, but if I could afford to I think I'd buy every single one they make! I buy mine from a shop called Collectables, which I always thought was a national chain, but seems it's actually just found in the North East. These are widely available online however from sites such as YankeeDoodle.co.uk as well as Ebay and Amazon.

If you're looking for a candle that will have a long burn time, fill your room with fragrance and invoke memories of a summer holiday, Yankee's Sun & Sand is definitely one to go for!!
