In previous reviews you will note that since becoming a dooyoo member I have also become a fan of the Yankee Candle brand. I blame this on all the wonderful reviews I kept reading which very quickly forced me to try them for myself! I must say though, I've not looked back at all!

I've tried to review almost every single scent I've tried in the last few months and this 'Sweet Strawberry' scent is the latest I've tried. As with all of my Yankee reviews so far this particular review is for the tart version of the candle range. For those of you who don't know, I will briefly explain what a tart is-and I promise it's far from derrogatory as it initially sounds!

Yankee Candle are America's best loved scented candle range and have been around for years and in the last few years they have really taken off here in the UK too. You can get such a huge variety of scents it's sometimes overwhelming to pick one! The brand also introduces new scents every season and retires others so they become harder to get hold of-the old supply and demand trick! Yankee offer a variety of products but their main range is the candles and these come in various glass jar sizes etc as well as the tart versions. The smallest of the range and therefore the cheapest they are far from being the runt of the range! The tarts are small shaped pieces of scented wax which you place in a wax burner and use a tea-light to heat up and melt. As it melts it's releases eit's scent and in approximate terms you usually get 8 hours of scent from each one.

This particular tart is from a current range from Yankee so it wasn't too expensive, it cost me 89p when I purchased a mix 'and' match selection of 10 tarts from ebay for £8.99-a very reasonable price for a tart as you usually pay between £1 and £1.20 for the current ranges in the shops.

As with all Yankee Tarts this one came wrapped in stiff plastic with a very lovely label on the front showing some very juicy looking strawberries. The plastic needs to be removed with scissors over the bin or sink because if you remove it over a work top or table they almost always shed some wax sprinkles which are a nightmare to get off surfaces.

The Sweet Strawberry tart was one I anticipated to like before I even smelt it! I am a huge lover of strawberry, cherry, blackberry etc type scents and flavours. I'm the annoying friend who eats all the red and purple sweets and leaves the others! So when I saw the name of this tart I knew it was a deffinate for my home. When it arrived it's scent was traceable through the packaging which I do like. Although as I've said in previous reviews, this is by no means an indication of the strength of scent it has because sometimes it's very wrong! That said I was very pleased to get a whiff of pure strawberry scent through the packaging. The scent perfectly matched the lovely creamy red colour of the wax.

As I burnt the tart it didn't take long for me to be able to smell the scent being released. Within half an hour the tart had fully melted and it was giving off it's full scent which I have to say I really loved. It was a refreshing, comforting and familiar strawberry scent. It wasn't a version of strawberry scent, but pure strawberry and was absolutely lovely! It's strength was also quite good too. It filled my kicthen quite evenly and wasn't overpowering which suited my mood perfecly that day.

As it continued to burn the scent became slightly more floral but this wasn't a bad thing, it was still equally as lovely to be surrounded by. And to add during it's burning time the smell did drift to other parts of my home which was nice too. Unlike some of the stronger more musky tarts I've tried this one didn't scent the whole house but you could still get traces of it's scent through the downstairs of my home which was pleasing enough for me!

I always ask my other half what he thinks of thats days scent as I tend to try new ones every few days. He said he liked it but it wasn't the strongest of the ones we have tried. This perfectly sums up this tart's scent. It's lovely, enjoyable and you can't fault it's actual scent but it's strength could be a little stronger and it would be absolutely perfect! It's because of that that I would give this tart 4.5 stars out of 5. It's such a great scent to have around, especially for strawberry lovers! I would have liked to smell it all over my house though so perhaps I will have to invest in a glass jar size of this scent in order to fill the house with the same scent. But one thing is for sure, it would be well worth it for this beautiful, summery smell!
