Advantages: Smells fab!

Disadvantages: ---------------------

I love Yankee Candles but have never been able to afford one of the big candle jars. Instead I settle for these Wax Tarts which are much cheaper (around £1 depending where you buy them from). Yankee are an American company and so it is often difficult to find their candles over here. I bought my first tarts from a website (yankeedoodle) and have since found a Yankee Shop in Stoke-On-Trent and a few gift shops/card shops which sell them.

Wax Tarts are little pie shaped bits of wax. They are made of pressed wax which means they crumble up if you break them. They are put in a wax tart burner with a lit tea light candle underneath and heat up then melt, releasing their lovely fragrance into the room. I use an oil burner for my wax tarts. Oil Burners are a lot smaller than Tart Burners so I break my Tarts in half and therefore get two goes out of each one! The fragrance usually lasts around 8 hours. To get the wax tart out of the burner you then wait for it to cool down and solidify before putting the burner in the freezer. After 10 minutes or so, the wax tart just pops out and can be put in the bin.

Frosted Pumpkin was a limited edition fragrance available at Yankee last winter. It could be bought in Wax Tart, Tea-Light, Votives or the bigger Jars. It has a lovely warming smell, like a baking pumpkin pie. Yankee say this tart smells of pumpkin, spices, honey and maple topped with a lovely vanilla frosting. This is a very accurate description. The only problem with this fragrance is it makes you hungry!

Summary: One of my favourites
