Advantages: Realtively cheap, Lovely aroma

Disadvantages: Need to remove dirt first

Being a househomer for just over a year now I have used up my bulk buy of Domestos (see separate report for that) and decided to venture out to pastures new ... and a more refreshing fragrance. So I chanced upon Zoflora.

Zoflora has been around for quite a few years now and my friend (a retired nurse) swears by it for a disinfectant (even down to taking it on holiday with her). It is available in ten different aromas - Citrus Fresh, Rose, Lilac, Sweetpea, Wallflower, Bouquet, Hyacinth, Flowershop, Springtime and Lavendar. Being a cactus person to a flower person I prefer the Citrus Fresh. Since I've started using the product it is now a smell that I associate with the utmost cleanliness. Of course others may prefer a different smell.

The bottle claims that the product is a concentrated disinfectant which is both fragrant and antibacterial. It kills germs and keeps unpleasant aromas at bay.

The product is available in a 56ml size for around 60p and also the 200ml size at just under £2. Such small sizes you may wonder, but then when 1 capful needs to be mixed with 390ml of water then it goes a long way.

So does it work?
Advantages
* Firstly I have found that a few drops down the sink before I go to bed makes the kitchen smell a little sweeter when I get up the next morning. Additionally the work surfaces are sprarkling clean and free ffrom bacteria.

* A few drops down the toilet after cleaning also make for s beautifully smelling loo.

* Thirdly I use it to keep my dishcloths and brushes sparkling clean and smelling even better than the aroma of Domestos.

* Other uses I have found have been for cleaning my kitchen floor and cleaning the bathroom surfaces.

Disadvantages
One of the downsides of using Zoflora is that it is more effective when used without soaps or detergents and where any excess dirt has already been removed. You also have to be careful when using the product around
polished and plastic surfaces. You must also remember to dilute it in accordance with thte instructions and use it neat only in ceramic and metal sinks, drains and toilets.

As Zoflora is such a powerful solution it is important to keep it out of the way of children. It does not come with a child proof top and should be places well out of their reach.

Summary
For me it is a product to use for disinfecting things and making things smell sweeter. Careful storage is a must if you have a child but then this is the same with all powerful chemicals.

You will find that a little goes a long way - but it is not as multifunctional as Domestos.

Do you know what is cheaper and healthier and just as effective? Cheap vinegar! It's sold in all supermarkets in Germany, do you have it in GB as well? If so, try it!
