The HP ProCurve features diagnostic LEDs for at-a-glance troubleshooting and hub status checks. It has one transceiver slot that accepts plug-in modules to deliver media flexibility for other media types including, fiber optic, coaxial (BNC), UTP and AUI.

The managed hub proactively finds common network problems, including chattering NICs, bad cables and incorrect network topologies, and fixes them if possible, while keeping you informed. It also features remote management capabilities in order to maintain optimum performance. Advanced management features include complete support for SNMP, MIT II, full RMON (all nine groups), HP EASE, traffic monitoring and fault isolation. There is also complete workgroup security, including intruder prevention, auto port disabling, network management alarm, eavesdrop prevention, authorized managers list and password protection. Additional features of the HP ProCurve include advanced troubleshooting (autopartitioning for fault isolation) and support for SNMP/IP multivendor management for Windows or UNIX.
