Advantages: Easy to set up and use
Disadvantages: Nothing at this price
Hi all well here is another opinion of mine that i must tell you about. I recently purchased a networking kit after a lot of research i decided to go for the Netgear Network Starter Kit(model SB105) as it contained everything i needed to setup my 2 pc`s. 2 x 10/100 FA311 PCI networking cards 2 x 3 meter category 5 cable with RJ-45 Connectors. 1 x EN2005 Ethernet Hub + power supply. 1 X Driver disk. 1 x Resources cd. Good news Netgear has included pictures so you cant go wrong. It took me 2 hrs from start to finish and that included me eating my tea and popping to the shops etc. Now the really good news is that you can upgrade this kit to run at 100mbps by simply purchasing a faster hub. The cards and cable are all 10/100mbps so they do not need to be upgraded again. Before you say huh 10mbps I would want 100mbps if you are moving loads of large files 1gb or more great but for swapping normal files and accessing other pcs 10mbps is more than enough linked to play games is great fun and 10mbps is well fast enough it doesnt hold games back 10mbps is ample speed for these types of usage. You can obtain 100mbps hubs for around £60 just the hub that is. I paid £49.00 for my set at pc world they are normally £69 so get there fast i have been set up for 2 days now and not a problem at all WELL DONE NETGEAR p.s. Netgear has a free help line if you need it.
