A variety of management options are also available, ranging from local hub management to powerful, Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP)-based Advanced Analyzer solutions featuring full RMON and RMON2 support. Management can be added to the network at any time and upgraded to meet the needs of the evolving environment, eliminating the need for a large up-front investment.

The Model 2705B features 16 shielded RJ-45 modular receptacles to support plug-and-play 4 and 16 Mbps Token Ring host connections. Two front-panel IBM Data Connector Ring-In/Ring-Out ports are available to support STP connections to other Bay Networks hubs or non-Bay Networks devices such as IBM 8228 multistation access units (MAUs).
