Allied Telesyn AT 8012M-QS ... a robust 9.6Gbps non-blocking switching architecture for wire speed packet forwarding and featuring priority queuing for weighted packet management, as with all the 8000 series switches, the AT-8012M-QS is ideally suited for deployment in small and medium enterprises, in multi-unit buildings, hotels, schools and universities.

Ideally suited for the Retail Market and the Small Office environment the AT-8012M-QS offers outstanding flexibility, features set, performances and value. Based on an 12 10/100TX port plus 1 uplink module that can be populated with 100FX, 10/100/1000T, 1000SX or 1000LX modules, the AT-8012MQS represents the best solution where best of breed features are required in a small form factor (QoS priority to handle Voice over IP traffic and run critical applications, such as money transfer or electronic payments, strong Security and authentication policy management, Bandwidth intense applications support). Among the same family is the AT- 8024M which is equipped with two expansion bays that can be populated with 100FX, 10/100/100T, 1000SX or 1000LX modules. The AT-8024GB can be populated with up to two of Allied Telesyn's hot-swappable Gigabit Interface Converters (GBICs) from the G8 series. These GBICs are available in five models and support distances from 500 meters to 40 kilometers. The AT-8026FC comes standard with two 100FX ports with SC connectors.

Although the 8000 series can be used as Plug & Play devices, an extensive range of management is provided at no additional charge. Management features include Web-based management, SNMP and Telnet, and availability via any VLAN (tagged or untagged). Firmware and configuration files may be uploaded/downloaded via TFTP, XModem (via RS232 Console) or Enhanced Stacking feature.

Richly equipped with features that include IEEE 802.1Q VLAN tagging and IEEE 802.1p priority queuing, the 8000 series allows for greater network micro-segmentation and traffic prioritization. When network managers have bandwidth hungry or time sensitive data, these switches can be configured to prioritize this traffic over other types. The 8000 series also features IEEE 802.3ad compliant Link Aggregation capabilities on each port, supporting up to 4 ports in a 10/100 trunk group or 2 ports in a 1000FX trunk group. Auto-negotiation and broadcast storm control capabilities on all ports are included. Additionally the auto MDI/MDI-X feature allows easy connection to other switches from any port.
