Allied Telesis AT FS211 ... between their computers, set-top boxes, Internet telephones and other devices. This range of wall-mounted access switches provides the interconnection needed between the fiber optic cable and the copper cable. Different broadband service suppliers use a variety of fiber optic connectors available today, and Allied Telesis' has created a range of wall-mounted switches to ensure compatibility with any provider.

Installing these switches could not be easier. A simple metal backing plate is secured to the wall, and then the switch just slides into position onto the backing plate, and is anchored with the help of two screws. Connect the fiber cable into one connector, and the power and copper cable into the other, and the unit is ready to use. An integral cable tie bracket is included for the power supply, designed to eliminate inadvertent disconnection, thus minimizing potential problems with the network.

All models of the AT-FS210 series support both 10 Mbps Ethernet and 100 Mbps Fast Ethernet, in either half or full duplex modes. Auto-negotiating to either speed guarantees compatibility with all user-connected equipment. Users can also connect multiple PCs together to access the broadband network through the addition of a hub or a switch connected directly to the wall-mounted access switch.
