These extender hubs combine the functions of 6 or 12 regular local units into one rackmount chassis. You simply connect 6 or 12 remote units via Category 5 UTP and attach your CPUs with Black Box Coax CPU Cable (EHN230).

The extender hubs and remote units require no software, are operating-system independent, and work with a wide variety of hardware, including the Microsoft IntelliMouse. The hub performs complete PS/2 keyboard and mouse emulation for the attached CPUs. You can unplug or replug your keyboard and mouse without worrying about disrupting the booting or operation of your CPUs.

Black Box offers the KVM Extender Single-Access Kit with Serial Extension that is designed for an added serial port. You can send KVM signals and serial data up to 1000 feet (304.8 m).
